Simple reliable MFA app
This is a good, reliable, easy to use app. I would pay for this just for the privacy aspect. Add in a backup option and definitely worth a few bucks.
Want to love it, but missing features!
Look, we love an open-source MFA application. That's why we're here, right? Tofu is an open-source MFA application. Features it's missing:
- Backup: a way to backup all of the accounts I have configured for a swift restore on another device, or on the same device after a factory reset. Current state, if I lose my device, I have to make sure I have my recovery one-time-use codes for all accounts configured in Tofu, disable MFA, and re-enable / reconfigure MFA on each account for Tofu. This isn't acceptable for me.
- Export: what if I want to move to another application? I shouldn't have to go to each account directly and reconfigure this. A JSON export would be excellent. This could be considered similar to the previous bullet.
Until those two things are resolved, I'm forced to stick with Authy, despite it being closed-source, as it at least offers cloud backup by default.

Best 2fa on iPhone imo
Wish there was a way to see the keys once you’ve put them in and maybe face unlock but given how easy it is to use I’ll let it slide
Needs Face Authentication
Why doesn’t it have face authentication if it has so much sensitive data in it!!! That should be a must!!
Perfect 2FA app
Beautiful clean design, no cloud connection, open source, simple and just works. Perfect!
Best authenticator out there period
1.6 MB, open source, and no data linked to you! I’ve been using last pass authenticator for years but about a year ago I switched from last pass to a different password manager. I checked out privacy tools for a better authenticator and found this gem. The other alternative I was considering was Raivo but it uses more space and the license isn’t as good. Switch your authenticator to this, you won’t regret it

No collection of data 😍
Perfect simple and great
Way better than Google’s
I really like keeping my accounts secure with an open source two factor authentication tool than one from a overrated malicious company.
Great app!
I’ve replaced Authy with Tofu and it’s been great. I’ve been using Tofu over a year now.
Great, simple app, but some major concern
This is the best 2FA option I’ve found so far. It’s to my taste: simply designed, unobtrusive and it just works. I did have some concerns though…
I’m not really sure if it has any iCloud backup functions or syncing capabilities. It makes using and relying the app feel precarious because I’m never sure if for whatever reason I lose or brick my phone whether or not my keys will be there.
I would really like some ability to save/sync my keys in the future, or at least some assurance that it’ll always be tied to my iPhone.
Besides that, some options in settings and additional configuration would be great. It feels a little *too* bare.
Please consider, devs!
