A great app with great flaws

Are the developers here any more? Did they take our money and run? I love this app, but there are major bugs and have been for years. If you leave the app for a while, like to answer a phone call, you might come back and lose everything you copied in your word list. Like I just did right now!

If you leave the app at all, the page scrolls up to the top and you lose your place in the word list.

There are many more infuriating problems with this app that aren’t coming to mind now.

I love this app and hate it at the same time. Please fix it.

iOS is designed run as efficiently as possible: When you push an app into the background it is suspended and may be terminated to reclaim memory. Terminated apps start anew when relaunched. How quickly a background app is terminated depends on the available memory and storage space of the device.

Fantastic (one issue)

This app is near perfect. I’ve been using it almost a year I think, & it’ll continue forever.

I just noticed though, there’s no alliteration for vowels. Is this on purpose because of some language rule?

Weak ability to fine adequate rhymes in every situation.

When looking for rhymes for “civilian” stallion and cotillion were not listed. When then I entered “cotillion” the lists were blank. Cotillion, stallion and civilian all rhyme. This situation has occurred before with certain words that I entered. I have not made a list, but when this occurred with “civilian”, I made notes in anticipation of your request for why I submitted less than average performance for your app.

The Premier Lyrical Reference

Unquestionably, this is the most prolific verbiage reference for lyrical writing purposes on the market currently! It’s exceptional how much value they’ve packed inside this app.

Excellent!!

I’ve been using their desktop version for years. If you’re a songwriter, poet, in advertising or just like to have fun rhyming words, Rhyme Genie is a must have! So easy to use and should you ever have an issue, the company provides the best customer service. Frankly , it’s worth much more than the price!

Tarry Not

The macOS version of Rhyme Genie beats the pants off MasterWriter, especially since the latter's developer imposed a subscription requirement on users. Besides, Rhyme Genie is vastly more powerful. So I had to glom onto the iOS version for my iPad. Don't waste time thinking about it. If you need a potent rhyming tool, look no further. Rhyme Genie is the hit. It's a brilliant app!

I love this app

If you write lyrics or poems and looking for rhymes this app is amazing. I have it installed on my iPhone and iPad - as well as my computer and can’t imaging writing lyrics without it.

They recently upgraded version - customer support was stellar.

I rarely write reviews but this one is worth it on many levels.

Rhyme Genie

This is the penultimate poetry/song writing/writing app. I first discovered it in 2009 or 2010 and purchased it for use on my Mac and have not been without it since. I also have it on my iPad and iPhone. Brilliant apps. The team at Idolumic are very prompt IF you’ll ever need them.

Currently unstable

I LOVED and used this app a lot for writing my lyrics, but since recent updates, I’m finding it unbearable. It’s very slow and clunky now... all the words (regardless of syllable) appear on one column and it takes many, many minutes of waiting before they’re finally separated into proper columns (sometimes, it doesn’t separate at all). Sometimes the words barely load at all, sometimes the app just outright crashes. Very unstable now... this used to be extremely stable and fast though!!
Using a Mini 4, updated to latest, not sure if that has had an effect or influence to the app or its updates.

I am sorry to hear that you are experiencing performance issues with the 2015 iPad Mini 4. Generally speaking Rhyme Genie 10 is more stable than previous versions. Apple's analytics reports an average of 1 crash per 1000 sessions in the last 30 days. The temporary freezing issue that you have touched upon was an unfortunate bug of the initial release. The issue has been addressed in the latest version. Given that iOS 14 requires more processing power in general I would recommend freeing up additional storage space before re-installing the app. This will greatly improve the performance of the app on older devices.
