Not even close to good prep
The SY0-501 is nothing like these questions. The questions on the exam are scenario driven. Given this data, what’s the best choice, or given this output when and what happened. Pocket prep questions aren’t even close to this. Complete waste of money.jim67842235
Lasted update breaks app - Updated
Happily used this for weeks until the latest patch. The patch resulted in lost credentials and an inability for the app to run on my iPhone unless loading directly from the App Store using the “Open” option. Won’t save my credentials and keeps reporting that I am on the free version - not the premium version that I had been using pre update. Restore purchase doesn’t fix the issue, nor does a phone reboot.
It appears that the issue resolved itself within a couple of days. I can’t now recreate the problem so I don’t know it it was the application or phone - but neither was updated prior to the issue being resolved.
The app performs as expected and was a very useful tool in my personal experience.
I used the daily question as well as the quick 10 questions (at least once a day). The app then kept a calculation covering each area of the exam and my overall correct percentage for each topic. I could then use those indicators to determine where to focus my studies.Show lessBlankgm

App is great but I believe the content is not exactly what you need to know, however is a great app and the idea of refreshing the knowledge on your mobile is very convenient!DeeBeeHawaii
Do NOT use this app as a main study engine
I am very disappointed with the questions on this app. The 4 star review on this app befuddles me because I truly and objectively think it does not merit such a rating.
I would argue that almost 25% of the questions on this app have NOTHING to do with the actual exam. For example, this app asks you all the different classes of fire extinguisher classes (A-K) and asks you all the different steps of the SDLC and what number each step is (that’s not directly tied to IT Security!).
I foolishly wasted so much time on this study engine thinking it was legit. It’s absolutely not! If you want real study material and preparation for the exam, spend your money on a book. Buy Darril Gibson or watch professor Messer videos (free). Those sources are excellent study materials. This app deserves to be in the bin. I strongly recommend to not spend the $15 on it as it will be a waste of your money and, more importantly, your time.Show lessNevanac

4.5 stars, actually! 💪 We're sorry you feel our app belongs in the trash (talk about harsh!) but a lot of hard work went into providing affordable CompTIA practice that's helped thousands conquer their exam. Obviously, we're not designed to be your only study tool as we don't include performance based questions (PBQs) which make up a good chunk of the exam (these would be really tough if not impossible to do on a mobile device). The topics we do cover can and usually are presented on the exam, even questions about fire extinguishers because, hey, you should know how to stop a fire in a server room. Each item is painstakingly referenced to other valid study guides and textbooks to make fact-checking and general studying less of a hassle. We just spent a few hundred hours updating the curriculum to the new(ish) SY0-501 exam blueprint. At the end of the day, our apps aren't for everyone. We totally get that. That doesn't mean your opinion is the only one that counts!So many mistakes!!!
I paid for the premium and regret it so much. I want my money back. Some questions do not even make sense, filled with grammatical errors and there are wrong answers.piiikkkaaaa

Good for on the go studying...
But if your studying the CompTIA security + 501 by Darril Gibson, it seems as though half the material in these questions are NOWHERE to be found in Gibson’s book. Nor did I hear or see it on professor messers videos. This app literally only shows sources from one book so It’s difficult to even study.Show lessDeejayapster
Good but slows down over time
Program slows down over time even though I paid for Premium. Great tool on the go, I wish it didn't have the built in slowdown as you advance. Very annoying.Sec+Student
Mostly bad
The app has good metrics about what domains you’ve done better/worse on in practice exams. Beyond that it’s not very good. I’m hesitant to use it for prep for these reasons: 1) The “explanations” are lifted from one reference. There is little context and no information about incorrect options. 2) Along the same lines, some questions excerpted from the reference text seem specific to that author’s wording and aren’t validated by other study resources. 3) A few answers are flat-out wrong.Show lessrun2tunes
