  • People need to stop being cheapskates!

App is perfectly fine. If you want better features then just pay the small premium price to unlock everything. People obviously don’t understand that the developer made the app to make a profit. 99.9% of the comments are coming from kids who feel entitled to premium features for free.
  • Do not download, it’s a waste of time

Hi, another complaint from a kid. Now I know that kid’s ideas are “unimportant,” but this app is seriously overrated and overpriced. You expect people to pay $2.00 a WEEK!? You should make more things free, the section that’s the whole point of the app you have to pay for! At least make some parts free, this is very unfair. The animation doesn’t look as clean as in the video in the app store and you can’t even use it on dogs (I tried and it didn’t work). Don’t get this app unless you want to pay $2.00 a week for cheap animations. You probably won’t answer or change anything since this is just one complaint from a child, but anyone wanting this or any kid trying to convince their parents, its a giant waste of time and I do not recommend it. (You can buy a Redbox movie for $2.00!)

Hello. You can apply the effects to your photos for free, similar to other free photo apps. There is also an optional in-app purchase for advanced tools. I'm sorry we can't make every feature free, but after working on Mug Life for more than four years, we have to charge for something to survive. The automatic face detection works on humans, so manual alignment is required for pets. Here is a tutorial video on how to animate pets: https://youtu.be/ya5jORGG_vI
  • Mug life

I think this is a funny game, but in the App Store it never said creating your own mug has a price. And it mainly showed creating your own, that made me think it is free. It was also very misleading, so I think you should make that more clear. I do understand that you need to make in game purchases, and it is very reasonable. But like I said before, I wish you would have made it more clear, beside that I think it is really fun! (But you should also have restrictions of what photos are aloud, because it does have some “scary” photos being used) Although, this is a very fun, and interesting game!

  • Cool app

Cool app and if it continues to work well, I will purchase it and support you guys. One request that needs to be fixed/is super annoying. When adding your constraints you need to pin them to the safeArea and not to the bottom of the superview. If you don’t have a iPhone X at least run it in the simulator and you will see what I mean. Or look at other apps to see what changed with layouts and how the layout slightly changed for anything after iPhone X. It will also make the app look more professional and polished

  • Not what it says

Ok first , this game looks super cool ! But in your ad there was no mention of you needing a subscription , I’m a kid and I don’t have enough to pay for a subscription even if I did I do not have a card . ( I have a suggestion maybe you could plz make like some free futures , or something . Like the face mover . ) I think that this was kind of a scam . Cuz like maybe an grown up would have enough but a kid , no . I mean I think people ( and myself ) would like it if you could make your own ! Any way this looked ( and would be if you guys made it free or something ) super cool so please 🥺🥺 . Look at the sad little emojis.

  • Lacks features but still an achievement

This app is good for simple animations on simple faces (which is still a towering achievement of 3D mapping and animation) but it sorely lacks necessary features to push it to the true pro level.
The app seems narrowly targeted at people who want to make silly memes but it's capable of much more if only the developers tried to make it into more of a tool.

    1. No way to set video or gif frame sizes. They arbitrarily downscale the input. If my device has the power for it, it should be possible to increase the resolution or override it under power-user settings.

    2. No way to freeze parts of the images e.g. overlapping hair, objects etc. get animated along with the face and there's no way to stop this. Need an implementation of a freeze mask like in the Photoshop liquify tool.

    3. Need ways to animate non-face objects. Some more geometry wireframes than just the face would help greatly.

    4. Need more control on the alignment points. There too rough, likely by design to cater to simple usage.

The best way to control the resolution is to resize the image before loading it into Mug Life. Video and JPG exports can go much higher resolution than GIF, due to memory limitations. We're happy to help with other techniques at support@muglife.com.
  • Was hoping to be able to record audio and have the face react

I have purchased the ProTools and was hoping somewhere I could record audio and have the mouth moving vaguely insinc…
Chatter pix can do this -albeit in a crummy way ha-I think it’s the perfect thing for your program to be able to do… So far I am very pleased and have many ideas for animating my own drawings etc. etc. and sculptures
I’ll look around perhaps I just haven’t found the functions all the functions yet! Can’t seem to find the developers response

  • Most Fun App Ever

I’m still learning this app bc there’s so much it can do! I love it!
The only thing I don’t like is the app pushing to share on social media. I don’t share anything bc I have a crazy ex husband who stalks me, so I truly despise being pushed to sign into the app with Facebook! Also every social media site, the app tries to get me to post on every single site there is!
Some people need privacy, simply for their own safety and the safety of their children, elderly parents and more!

  • Malfunction?

Can’t create or use the perform feature anymore. Everytime I’ve selected my photo and then go to tap “create” or “perform” it starts buffering and it never loads. I’ve deleted and re-downloaded the app but it does the same thing. Then I tried it on my friend’s phone thinking it was just a problem with mine and I could only see the “create” option and no “perform” option or any subscription option to buy it. Then even when I did click “create” it stays on the buffering screen forever. I really would like for this to be fixed because I love the performance feature and I cant create the videos I want anymore. :(

(Also, I do have an Iphone X in case the feature is only for that type of phone, but it just doesnt work anymore)

  • Rip off

When you can’t open the app without purchasing then it is not an in app purchase. If you believe in this product go ahead and put the price out there.

Shameful deception. I do not trust you!!!!

So i got the same boiler plate response that everyone else received which basically said that we all misunderstood how to use the app. I know when i went back to see if the developer was right i was once again slapped in the face with the “Free”Trial” offer. If you have ever clicked on one of those land mines just know that you will automatically be charged the inflated subscription which will require a simple 5 step process to cancel.

To the developers and to Apple, if it takes one click to spend money it should only take one click to return it when we realize we have been ripped off.

I keep getting harassed by this developer to correct my inaccurate statements. I’m not sure what to say. An app that i have to click through a minefield of “free trials” to use the app is not a free app. This app amounts to click-bate my purpose with this review is to let people know that if they don’t want to spend money for a subscription and they don’t want to have to click past screens to decline that subscription they shouldn’t download this app.

You can apply the effects to your photos for free, similar to other free photo apps. There is also an optional in-app purchase for advanced tools. If you aren't interested in the optional tools, just close the offer with the X button in the corner. Since this was a misunderstanding, I'd really appreciate it if you update your review. Thanks! Edit: Were you able to get past the offer screen and use the app? If you are interested in the offer, Mug Life uses the standard iOS purchase process, which requires multiple confirmation prompts and authentication with Apple. It is not possible to be charged with a single click. On my phone, a purchase requires at least three taps, plus entering my password. To recap, you first claimed that you can't use the app without purchasing, which was a misunderstanding. Next, you claimed that you could accidentally make a purchase with a single click, which was also a misunderstanding. If you have any questions, we're happy to help at support@muglife.com. Again, I'd really appreciate it if you fixed the inaccurate statements in your review. Thank you.
