  • It’s okay. Just please allow us to be creative.

So I downloaded the app and I thought I could edit someone’s face. I can, but I can’t move it around like it does in the video because it costs money. To anyone reading this review, if you want to move faces around like in the video, but for free, I wouldn’t recommend this app. You have to look up a certain thing with a certain animation and caption to put that on the face you’re using. And to all those people who pay for that membership thing, it’s not worth it. Also add a filter thing for searches so any kids who might be using or watching someone use this app, that they wouldn’t see the horror themes and inappropriate themes. Please developer, make the face editing thing free.

  • Your Logo on Images

Love the app a lot. Do you have a version without your logo (web page) at the bottom of the image? I have the subscription version and thought since we were paying you would remove your logo from the images we create. That’s the privileged app creators give to those who pay. If you do not, please create one without your logo for paid subscription and those who buy the app as well; we deserve it. Thanks in advance for considering my request. Thanks for the app as well.

  • Wow. Never again

Download the app used it didn’t have any problem with that stuff forgot about it.

Download it again just now to use it and saw the 12-year-old kid review and the way you talked down to them and treated them like crap and try to reword the response to make it look like they wanted free stuff we’re not all they were doing is giving you constructive criticism from one of your customers point of view....

Has made me certain that I’m going to delete the app after posting this review and never use anything I find is made by you ever again you should be ashamed of yourself that’s not how business carries themselves

That’s a disingenuous response it’s the number one most cited review on your page right now you know exactly what girl I’m talking about and then you immediately shift to the old the positive reviews is dismissive. Also attempting to make the conversation go private by offering support via email is only an effort to silence someone who speak publicly and negatively so if you have anything to say you can stay here everyone can see your response thank you very much. The very way you worded it correct other peoples misunderstandings clearly shows you have no intent on taking responsibility .... good day.

I'm not sure what you're referring to out of the thousands of reviews. We always make our best effort to be respectful, but we do try to correct misunderstandings. If you'd like to discuss further, we always appreciate feedback at support@muglife.com. Edit: I think I know which one you are talking about. If you look closer, we have a series of responses including responses to prior reviews that she wrote. We kept the history of our responses intact, but she did not, so you are missing half the conversation.
  • Very cool

I saw this advertised on Facebook. I downloaded it just to play around with it. It’s actually a very good idea for an app. For those expecting free, this app probably cost $30,000 or more to develop and thousands to market. Most mobile apps that are useful cost thousands to make and with all the restrictions with marketing, it’s very difficult to accommodate everyone. The developer who made this did a great job! If only I had thought of it first!

  • I love this app!

So when I'm scrolling through instagram alot of times the ads are misleading or just straight up false advertising, however, i still download alot of them because they seem cool. With this app i wasn't expecting much but when i launched it the layout and everything was so awesome and immediately my expectations where passed. Although there are some things you cant do on the free version of the app i was shocked with the amount you could do!
Over all, its a great app and definitely worth an install!

  • Thanks Mug Life! 😁👍🏻

Long story short, my phone was stolen and people used my account to post vulgar things resulting in my accounts ban. After getting my phone back and some damage control, Mug Life reps were very polite and helpful in getting this portion of the problem fixed quickly and quietly. Thank You Mug Life! I enjoy this app very much and it has provided me several hours of entertainment when I needed it most! You guys rock 👊🏻.

  • Bad experience

My review had difficult questions for the devs to answer, and somehow they got it deleted. So I’ll just leave it at this. The premium experience is over priced and they would love for you to forget about it, there is no real world reason to charge for this app on a yearly basis, they are adding new content regularly but that is the free part, the part you pay for yearly is the power tools that are already developed. The other big problem is the lack of clear instructions for canceling your expensive membership. You can contact them directly and they will point you in the right direction, but people will not typically do that, and I have some knowledge about people’s habits in this regard with my experience in this industry. The instructions for this type of thing should be layed out in the F.A.Q. Section of their app, they could even just add a link to apples page which is already made, that lays out the steps. It feels like bad will toward their customer base to not do so.

Thanks for your feedback. We worked on Mug Life for over three years, and we're continuing to add new content and features. If you don't value our work, that is your choice. Many people love Mug Life, but it's not for everyone. Thanks for trying Mug Life.
  • An Okay App But Not Worth It

You have to pay to access anything worth using on this app. While the app itself is free and plenty of pre-made effects are available for free the process they showed in the ad is not free and requires purchase. The app works fine and has plenty of effects for free but after a few minutes of playing around with pre-made options it gets boring and stale.
If you feel like forking out money to access the DIY feature go right ahead but I will not be. I deleted the app. It’s just not worth it. Without the DIY feature it’s boring and repetitive. In my opinion they should make the app itself cost money or explain that the features they are advertising cost money so that people will not download their app under false pretenses thinking what they want is free when it’s not.

You can apply the effects to your photos for free, similar to other free photo apps, like FaceApp, Snapchat, or Prisma. There is also an optional in-app purchase for power tools. I'm sorry we can't make every feature free, but after working on Mug Life for more than three years, we have to charge for something to survive. The ad highlights both free and paid features. The details are explained in the app description.
  • Very cool, but something else would make it 10 times better

    NEW IDEA!
Here's something that would make animating the faces a lot easier. Maybe a "text-to-speech" option. So if you just type in what you would have the mouth say, it would add said speaking to the animation.

It's really useful, I like it. Being able to do all this "bringing photos to life" stuff, really cool.

But, something else would be an awesome feature. Being able to record your own mug animations with your camera. Like, you could record your face moving a certain way, then apply those custom recorded motions directly to another face.

I mean, doing it by hand is okay, but being able to do it with your camera would be seamless and very fun.

  • Miracles do exist.

As a lonely person this app has been a gift of great stature. I have made hundreds of avatars with the photos of my lost love. I don’t know how I would coup with my mourning were it not for this program. It has been 5 years since she was taken. Each day I live in misery until I found this app. Now with the assistance of a 10 inch tablet and her old dresses it as if the accident never happened. Thanks so much....
