  • Nice lightweight image editor

This is a very simple image editor and the name "Annotable" sets expectations rather well. "Simple" here is a GOOD thing.

I particularly like the loupe (shown in the video on the iTunes Store) and redaction features.

The author is also using Trello nicely to point the way to future function. (For example "Cropping" just got moved to "Doing".) This should inspire confidence in users and I would advise them to take the link to Trello from the app and register interest in some of the cards.

Also, when I ran into a small misunderstanding as to how redaction worked the developer was very responsive to my query.

  • UPDATED 2024😍 love at first pixel obscuration 🤓❤️

    2024: STILL REIGNS!

(UPDATE 2020) Still using this, INDISPENSABLE MUST HAVE! THIS is THE app to use for your image annotation needs. Worth paying for every option. I can’t tell you how nicely it’s made informative images stand out so that they do their duty! I’ve used Annotable for editing images such as bug report screenshots, highlighting maps and directions, even to annotate screenshots of friends text messages to prove a point to them! With a UI layout that is easy to remember, and functions that are VITAL, this is the cake right here! Thank you Awesome Developer for taking the time to reply to my review. I hope See you on the TestFlight flipside 😉

I'm really glad you like Annotable. Yes, I'll consider making a macOS version. I just don't have enough time recently.
  • Save on close doesn’t work

Hey mate, when I did a screenshot and shared to Annotate to do the markup. There is no way to manually save it, the only way to save it is to save on close, which is a good solution until it doesn’t save anything! It is very annoying and no error or so appears(maybe the app just crashed but it appears the same to close)
This issue seems small but is pretty much making the annotate unusable.
Please look into it and fix it.

Hi, it is saved in a copy in your photo library. It cannot the changes in the original image in this flow due to iOS limitations.
  • Fantastic!

I love it! Free features are excellent, I paid the 1-time purchase for $9.99 for extras and it's totally worth it! Easy-to-use user interface, the programmers really focused on the experience adding features like a little magnifier box appearing to the side, for easy, pinpoint, viewing when you hold your finger in one spot for a couple of seconds. Lots of options like layering border boxes to make it "pop" in your image, rotating the angle of the object with an "auto-snap" feature to reset to perfectly vertical if needed, but allowing for fine-tuning if you use the delay as described previously. Great job guys, huge fan here!

P.S. ChatGPT recommended I use your app so you're in the big show, keep it up!

  • Massive text

I can write text on top of photos with arrows/highlights which is great to annotate, but the problem I am facing is that we cannot make the text smaller, the text is too big and covers the whole photo. Please enable a feature to reduce the sizing of the text, either by selecting font size or by being able to drag it by the thumb and index to enlarge or minimise by pinching in and outwards.

  • Disappointing at best.

This app was usable and good when it was a full app but now you have to pay for every little thing don’t bother other full apps out for a small cost ! That are just as good problem is the owner got greedy me thinks ! Just set a price for a full app !
  • Use in my biz constantly & make posters, greeting cards

I use this app (since I’m a frustrated commercial photo 2 year grad) to take nature photos and place Bible scripture on for eventual book(s) or sale as posters at craft shows “when I’m old” but especially to mark photos in my property maintenance work to add arrows, explanations to photos of damage, or in proposals to identify photos of my plans by number or letter for easier review by the customer. Choice of typestyles & ability to custom mix more muted colors than the default pallet is cool, takes a bit for an old fart to discover - ideas: an actual “arrow” graphic which could be turned 365° once added easier than using < and > and ^ symbols as I often do now; also: how about an automatic color sampling ability from a key location in a photo for type color to be immediately used without having to color mix with graphic display which some folks who are colorblind (not me!) or musical rather than visual, could use to custom-tailor their type colors?

  • Easy to use & powerful. Pay what you need! My go to for years!

This app has been my go to for annotating photos since the built-in iOS feature debuted years ago! It’s intuitive, easy easy to use and has powerful features. just as important it has a very flexible business model which allows you to pay for just the features you use!

Until today, the app hadn’t been updated in two years. I started looking at the competition as I expecting it to break with the latest OS. None of the other apps compared in terms of features or price. In a world that has all gone subscription based this is a real gem. Try it now, you won’t be sorry!
