Barcode scanner is useless
Could be better
The best I’ve ever used
Great app for people trying to collect video games.
Just not for what is advertised, which I want to remedy with this review.
The feature of keeping track of all your video games, consoles, accessories, those action figures with nfc chips in them, and print media.
On paper (or an app description)
that feature sounds helpful.
But in practice that doesn’t really help much since I can usually remember the video games I own.
However I have a little more trouble remembering the video games I want.
The app has a wishlist function that lets you select any one of the previous mentioned items ever made and put them in a list.
Then the next time you end up near your retro game store of choice check to see if the store has any of the games on your list.
You’ll find the game you are looking for in no-time!
A few bugs but a good app
Barcode Scanner Not Working
However, on this app, the barcode scanner refuses to work.
I really wanted to use this app, but unless the barcode scanner can be fixed it’s be a chore to add my games to it unlike Blu-Ray.com where I was easily able to add all my Blu-Rays.
Response from developer
There could be a variety of reasons why we don’t have the barcode you scan but when you *do* scan a barcode it does not recognize it says “barcode not recognized.” I guess that could say “barcode not in db” but that is essentially what it means. Europe is our weakest barcode set since there’s 50 regional releases per release, but our US and even Japanese set is pretty thorough, so if you’re having trouble with those you’d have to give us more information but that seems highly unlikely.
Doesn’t show Australia Release Version
Response from developer
We don’t have a lot of Australian barcodes yet but you can filter to them to see how many we have!
Do not buy.
Response from developer
Just to be clear you cannot purchase this app because it is and always will be free! Maybe you were thinking of another app
Please add Australian support.
Response from developer
There is support but the db is mostly iser curated. I see only 871 Australian exclusive entries in the app, though there is massive overlap with UK/Europe stuff for retro stuff. Of which we have a lot of support for!
