This is honestly the most annoying app to even have on your phone. Why did Apple think that this was a good idea to separate the Phone app and the FaceTime app when they function the same. The FaceTime app isn’t even better there’s nothing you can do on the FaceTime app other than FaceTime which u could have easily done with a button in the Contact tab. On top of all of it you don’t even know the exact time that a person saved in your contact calls you, but not an unsaved number that called you, all they tell you is the day you were called. The only time u know exactly when someone called you is if there an unsaved contact and it’s been almost a month from the current day you’re checking. The only way you know exactly when one of your saved contacts called you is, you guessed it, when you check your PHONE app. Apple please fix this.
FaceTime is a great way to call your friends and also see them at the same time whenever you’re in different places. It helps me a lot so that I can see their faces especially when they’re on trips or somewhere else and I wish I was hanging out with them. The only problem that I find is that every now and then it’ll glitch and it will force me to end the call and call right back. If it was not as glitchy, then we would have easier ways so we wouldn’t have to keep on recalling each other because of the problem that it’ll pause and show a notification signal. I don’t know for sure, but I think this happens to everyone. if it’s just my iPad, I would like some feedback. but I personally think that I’m not the only one. thank you!
2024-Jul-15 UPDATE: With every new software update, the quality of the apps are steadily decreasing. eg. Siri used to understand the shortcuts’ voice commands but now a simple task for Siri to make a FaceTime Audio call to a contact that has only ONE phone number stored brings up a Prompt Screen asking to confirm if user indeed wants to call the only number stored under this contact name. Is technology truly advancing with such obvious declining intelligence?!
What’s the point of setting up Siri to perform some common tasks, such as making calls if the process requires more time and excessive follow up actions? Beats the purpose of using voice, might as well revert back to traditional Nokia era and manually press some buttons for quicker results!!
I initially gave 3 stars in first review but now I must minus another star for poor integration between the app & phone.
INITIAL REVIEW: FaceTime was one of the reasons my whole family chose APPLE phones. This sudden change is a shock and gives off a 'silence before the storm' vibes. So many settings are now screwed up and no longer working. Is this going to be the worst chang in Apple's history? If not for my liking the app, this review would've been given just 1 star for pushing through this frustrating change!
I don’t understand how a technology titan that is Apple can have a video call software so out of date compared all of the amazing alternatives out there. One of my biggest complaints with this application is its failure to recognize that a video call should have ended once a device has died that is in a video chat. There have been an uncountable amount of times when either my ipad or iphone dies mid call and when I get my device charged and turned on again and attempt to recall the person who i was talking it brings me into this non-existent video call that is not connected or connectable to the person I’m trying to reach. No matter how many times I exit and call back, it still brings me to the alternate dimension video call. I have to call the person via regular phone and then have them call me on facetime, answer the video call, watch the call fail, and then call them again for it to work. EVERY other application on the market, even one built by some 3rd grader who put cup and string together, easily manages this problem. Discord, Whatsapp, and Zoom have set the bar on this service and yet you still choose to sit on your hands.
I’m 10 years old right so I like to call my friends because it’s summertime but there’s a few things I have to say about it first thing is that it doesn’t have a games on it that you can play with your friends and secondly it’s a little bit glitchy and it’s like kind of annoying if people are at the same time talking but that’s kind of your fault. that’s my feedback. The good thing is that it’s great that we invented this or else like I would’ve died because my hands would’ve been dying from texting I think it’s a great tool to call your friends and talk to them obviously and see how they’re doing I like it it’s just I need a few things to work on.
- Screen Sharing: when I try to screen share it works but then it stops after like one min. Then I have to do it over and over and it becomes really annoying!
- Filters: there are filters you can put on, like watercolor, ink, and comic there are also temperature filters like vivid warm, vivid cold, and mono. It lets me use the temperature ones but the other ones don’t show up there. The thing is they show up in Messages but only when I edit photos.
- Special Effects: so there are special effects like when you make a thumbs up in front of the camera, a white thumbs up with a gray thought bubble appears on the screen. The same happens with a thumbs down. Or when you make a heart, tiny hearts appear inside it. When I try to use these Special Effects they don’t work.
- Connection: ok the Connection is usually very glitchy and not very good. This might just be a home problem but you might be able to help! My friends seem to have no problem with these things. Please try to fix all of these problems!

Love this app to connect with others who have Apple devices. Never had any problems until a few months ago when I noticed some times when I use it, my phone gets super hot. A couple of times, I had to exit a group call just to let my phone cool down and then rejoin the call. Not sure why this is the case. This happens when I exit all apps except FaceTime so I don’t think it’s because I have too many apps open. I’ve also tried shutting down and restarting but it does fix the problem. This (phone gets hot) used to happen when I used the Sam’s Club app as well. Would appreciate a solution or fix pls. Thanks.
This app if very good for talking with your friends or family from the phone or iPad or whatever your using! I love how you can share your screen. But sometimes SharePlay can get annoying. I have no idea why. And also, (another problem), if you and your friend (or whoever) are too close, it will make a weird noise that’s really loud and annoying. And if you and whoever are far away, it glitches and it’s hard to hear depending on what you are doing. The noise isn’t the best in general, but it’s mild. I would honestly recommend this app because I think it’s useful. I use it a lot and I think it’s a great app.

and this weird voice just keeps interrupting me when I’m trying to call my friend Gavin can I just call him😡😡😡😡 it’s not fair I wanted to play with him and you little voice just keeps interrupting me can you just let me call without the little stupid voice interrupting me for at least one time this is so so bad if this is an update, you have to immediately delete the update it’s like so hard to call my friend now😡😡😡😡😡😡😡 he’s not your friend he’s my friend, so you won’t have permission to interrupt me and him trying to call each other OK do not understand this is not me just being dramatic this is actually bad. Can I just play with my friend and all this app says no you can’t call your friend you’re supposed to call your friend on this app😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡
This is the best app anyone could use to talk to friends and family. You could use it for doing projects with friends, talking to family you miss, hanging out with people on line, and even having online sleepovers for fun! And to parents that think that is too much screen time for children, it’s not. You could be active while talking. Thank you so much for whoever created this app and everyone make sure to use FaceTime all the time!!!! 💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
But here are the problems
1- When I FaceTime sometimes the call like ends when we’re talking and it gets very annoying and it’s like you’re thinking that the Wi-Fi is the problem but it’s not. It’s just the app.
2-this is a big problem! When people talk on FaceTime, sometimes it like cuts out their voice well most of the time and then you have to keep asking them to repeat their selves and then they get very annoyed and it’s just very annoying.
3-One thing that annoys me is like sometimes like I wanna turn off the volume fully, but it only keeps on to the lowest one but one’s very allowed and it gets annoying if you don’t want to hear something they say or want someone else to hear what they say it’s super loud at one.
if you could fix these problems, I would be very thankful so thank you if you do.
