Works but need works

I personally use this app for our GLD 80 at church. It works but you need to know how to set it up. One minus point is it does not load the current setting from the console. You have to basically override your aux mix every time.

Solid update

Thanks for adding auto discovery! Great little improvement to a solid app.

Great update

Glad it finally has auto discovery

Success on iLive! Please expand to 64 channels?

I was curious to see if this app would connect to and iLive since the GLD is built on the same code it does! It can control mixes, but does not read current metadata on the respective aux mix. Also it can only see the iDR-48 and not the local console channel input (extra 16). If you guys could develop this a little more for iLive and expand the channels, I am willing to bet it would be worth your time, as the iLive community is dead in the water from and app standpoint. Let me know if you have any questions and I would be glad to beta test and help! Thanks!

Response from developer

Thanks so much for the review! I'm surprised it worked on the iLive as-is. Part of the reason I haven't created a version for iLive is there is already a free App released by Allen & Heath that supports everything gldMix does and more for the iLive. I'd love to hear more about why you aren't using that App already: me@ryanbrink.ca

App is not working

I tried everything and no good. Network, IP, Midi Channel, Buses all correct and still nothing.

Response from developer

So sorry to hear that! If the issue is with connecting, the primary problem is often that the board is configured to DHCP, and the address shown on the config page is NOT the board's dynamically assigned address. You need to either check on your DHCP server, or configure the board to static to connect. Email me at ryan@brinkim.com if you'd like help getting connected.

Doesn’t work

Sorry. I’ve even tried the recent update and still doesn’t work. Won’t be the first time I’ve wasted money.

Response from developer

So sorry to hear that. Could you please send us an email with specifics so we can improve things? ryan@brinkim.com

Does not work at all

Buy a happy meal you will get more out of your 4.36

Response from developer

We would love to understand how the App didn’t meet your expectations. Any chance you could give us some more detail? ryan@brinkim.com

Gld80

This app is crashing consistently and not recalling settings. Not close to the M32 apps!

Response from developer

So sorry to hear that! Contact me via email and I'll see if I can fix the issue you're having.

Doesn’t work

We got the GLD80 and had our band purchase this app and we cannot get it to connect, no matter what we do.

Response from developer

So sorry to hear that! Please contact me via email (ryan@brinkim.com) and I can help you get connected.

Very helpful but...

Is there a way to stop users from being able to alter the actual Main Mix?... slightly scary prospect! I realise they would have to select ‘Main Mix’ but somehow or other, it will inevitably happen.

I think I read that because of licensing issues(?) the app isn’t able to read the initial positions of the faders - you only know where a fader is once you have moved it. Would be super helpful if the developer is able to find a way around this :)

Still looking forward to rolling this out at our church - whilst being careful to educate each user!

Response from developer

Glad to hear you're rolling it out despite your concerns! Yes: I'm releasing a version soon that lets you select which bus types you want to have visible, and some warnings to make it much more difficult to accidentally affect the main mix. Unfortunately, yes: Allen & Heath doesn't provide a public way to read the fader positions, which is very frustrating. However, in the new version I'm going to make presets work in a way I think will really help make the App more usable despite the limitations. Thanks for the feedback!
