Charges high service fee
Response from developer
Fees are gradual depending on the amount to be sent, they are approximately 0.70 cents for 1 LTC, however, above a certain amount, they never go above €2.82, so sending any amount of LTC is very cheap.
Expensive fees
They added an expensive “service fee” (typically $2) to the app in a surreptitious way in early 2024. I could find no mention of it anywhere online. All they said in the update log was “Lower fees!” when it was introduced. You only notice the service fee when you’re about to send LTC, depending on how much you are paying attention.
It used to cost $0.01 network fee per transaction. Now the network fee + service fee as of May 2024 costs:
Sending up to $20 = $0.20 fee
Sending $20 or more = $0.30 fee
Sending $50 or more = $1.00 fee
Sending $100 or more = $2.00 fee
Sending $500 or more = $2.50 fee
Sending $1000 or more = $3.00 fee

Sorry you are not enjoying Litewallet. We do clearly label the fees in the send view. The app has grown over the years and as it becomes more popular, the costs have risen. We have been subsidized by the Litecoin Foundation for 7 years and we want to want to stop losing the foundation so much money. If you want a non-service fee version, please check out Newborn and restore your seed there. You can use it to send MWEB transactions too. Weird

Welcome to the real world on crypto! Those 12 words are called a seed phrase and they are an easy way to recall your private key (a really long list of numbers and letters) Litewallet is a self-hosted wallet that is the number one decentralized Litecoin mobile app. We don’t control any aspect of your copy and you are responsible for keeping those words. Protecting those words are really important. Had you entered the words maintained some Litecoin and lost your phone, you can just restore the wallet on a new device. We call them wallets but they are actually, keyrings. All crypto (Litecoin) lives on the blockchain…not your phone. Other wallets hold the keys and they ask you to trust them.
THIS IS A SCAM

So disappointed
To rub salt in the wounds they have now added a compulsory ‘Service fee’ of 1.3% along with the network fee on every transaction. Cost be $1.04 to send 1 LTC. Absolute joke and way to ruin what was a decent app.
