Good idea, needs more development
I am a teacher in Pennsylvania in a district that uses Tap App. Benefits: This is a quick, easy way to share security issues in a building and to communicate during emergencies. Problems: Current, active alerts should show up on the main page when you open the app. Recently during an evacuation, I was not able to access the alert because my phone was on Do Not Disturb, and I did not receive the notifications for the alert. This meant that I was not able to communicate with my colleagues during the evacuation using Tap App. You should not have to use notifications to participate in an active alert. Updates sign you out. If the app updates automatically, and I do not check regularly to be sure I am signed in, then during an emergency I am unable to use the app, and I may miss the alert. There are other issues with communication and marking students as missing, but they slip my mind.
