Update 10.18.24 - Used the app for a fire drill today. I was able to access the alert by tapping the notification BUT once I exited the alert in the app I lost all access. I have to keep my phone on and in the app to be able to use it, which, frankly, is stupid.
I am a teacher in Pennsylvania in a district that uses Tap App. Benefits: This is a quick, easy way to share security issues in a building and to communicate during emergencies. Problems: Current, active alerts should show up on the main page when you open the app. Recently during an evacuation, I was not able to access the alert because my phone was on Do Not Disturb, and I did not receive the notifications for the alert. This meant that I was not able to communicate with my colleagues during the evacuation using Tap App. You should not have to use notifications to participate in an active alert. Updates sign you out. If the app updates automatically, and I do not check regularly to be sure I am signed in, then during an emergency I am unable to use the app, and I may miss the alert. There are other issues with communication and marking students as missing, but they slip my mind.

Better Prepared
After looking for years our district found the TAP App and it has been a tremendous improvement. Staff and local first responders love it.
911
Can you please move the ‘Call 911’ button to somewhere else? That spot is how I close the app. I don’t want to accidentally call 911.
A must have
Awesome App…easy, simple, modern…a must for safety & security @ current times.
By far the best emergency communication app on the market
Tap App is the best!!!
Amazing app
The best app out district came upon after years of searching. Our teachers love it and the police embraced it.
Worthless
Completely waste of space on my phone dictated by my employer
Doesn’t work after iPhone updates
Every time my phone updates the tap app logs me out. If there’s an emergency, how would I know if it doesn’t alert me after it’s logged off? Email would be more effective than this app.
