  • Four years since last update? Cmon man

And this product is still being actively sold as one that depends on a functional and usable mobile app? Sorry, you’ve got to do better than that.

There is a functioning product here but so many ways to make it really useful to a shooter.

Great concept but four years since you’ve fixed a bug or added a feature is insane.

UPDATE: adding back a star because a new version has finally been released. It appears the User experience has been completely redesigned. I’m a UX designer by trade and will be happy to share my unbiased feedback after using it.

  • Nice system

I have used my system several times now. The laser cartridge works perfectly, the sled/base only needing a phone holder with more adjustment to be perfect as well. My 8+ fits without its case but not with, I actually have a phone (selfie) holder I’m using instead of the base.
As for the app, it took a few minutes to get the settings where I needed, as well as the indoor lighting. Definitely don’t have it under direct light or it will start scoring based on that. So take a few mins to get it set correctly and it should be fine.
But once i had the settings and surroundings set, the rest went as expected. With the high cost and low availability of ammo (and limited range access at times) this system will pay for itself soon enough. And it can be fun to get back to practicing, including being able to work on more than ranges often allow.
So for now i’d give it 4 stars (close to 5), for me it was definitely worth getting.

  • Please fix! Don’t need to hear the gunshots

I love this app, and have gotten into the habit of practicing my dry-firing all day whenever I have a spare moment. My only complaint is that you can’t disable the sound! I don’t need to hear a gunshot, I’m practicing dry firing. What I really want is to be able to listen to my music and use the app at the same time, but if I have music running the app pauses the music to mimic a gunshot sound. If this can be fixed I’ll amend my rating to 5 stars!

  • Decent, but not worth the $4.99 upgrade

I paid for the “quick draw” feature and after fighting with the apps inability to figure out portrait vs landscape, I found after first shots that the app only picks up 50% of the time at best. I’ve adjusted distance, lighting and sensitivity to no avail. As soon as I think I have it dialed in, it misses the first shot, and sometimes the first 5 shots! Really would like to have my $5 bucks back, but maybe they will use it to improve.

This is a 2-star app but I have it 3 because the free version is good for being free. Do not pay for anything they offer.

  • The weak link of a decent product

The iTarget device itself is pretty good. The target is a good size, can be seen well from 30 feet. This is further away than you’d probably ever have to shoot from, but does allow for good trigger squeeze practice. The app on the other hand is horrible and the weak link of an otherwise decent product.

It seems like no matter what you do you get false hits. I have tried calibration, different light sources, types of light and it doesn’t matter.

The app doesn’t seem to make full use of the spectacular camera on iPhone 12, the image seems slightly out of focus.

The last ding is that you have to pay to get all the features of the app, this is after paying $100 for the product.

  • Works Great just need to properly set up.

I was actually having the same issues when I first got it a lot post on here.. shots not registering, issues with lighting conditions, ghost shots registering. This is the response I received and if you follow these steps you will have no issues. Main thing being to zoom in on target so the only thing in the picture is the target!

    From Developer -

    1) Make sure the phone camera is not seeing off of the target plate and is only seeing the target image. Anything in the background could be interfering with the shot detection.

    2) Make sure the light on the target plate is an even light. No bright areas and shadows on the target plate at the same time. Make sure the room has normal lighting and is not too dark. Don't use it directly under overhead lights.

    3) Make sure there is no reddish light illuminating the target. The app responds to the color red.

    4) Press the wrench image to go to settings. This is the main screen for adjusting the sensitivity. If you see any white showing up here, that area is being detected as a hit and your laser won't be. Raise or lower the sensitivity to eliminate any white. Ideally, you want to raise the sensitivity as much as possible without introducing the white noise. Take the laser in your hand and shine it at the target plate.
The laser should show up as a white hit and everything else should be black.

After I adjusted these things, zero issues.

  • Great Training App

I saw this talk about on an internet site. I looked for reviews and found most very good. I purchased the iTarget Pro and the add on purchase then downloaded the app. After viewing the instruction video and a little practice I got it set-up. I love it!! It has helped my grip to control the gun, my trigger pull and my site picture. Outstanding value and the company was right back to me to answer my question. Thanks for a great and fun product!!

  • Suggestion

Overall I like the iTarget system but I wish there was a way to make the size of the score larger. I like to practice from 15’ to 20’ away and from that distance I can’t see my last shot’s score.
  • Does NOT work ON Iphone 11.

Have purchased and will not work on New Iphone 11 Pro.

Works on older phones but that is NO help.

    Waste of money.
  • Decent, needs a lot of work

When it works it’s great. Unfortunately it glitches way to often. If your using it indoors it takes about 10-20 min to get the lighting just right in your house to get it to work without glitching. If your using it when the sun is out good luck. Best used inside at night with no natural light coming in. If they fine tune the camera I’d use this everyday. It’s just to frustrating to use the more often. I’ll change my review to 5 stars when fixed.
