  • Works really well

So I just got the set up yesterday and messed around with it for an hour. I started in the living room with relatively low light since my wife was watching tv. No real issues with false readings. Main issue with accuracy was due to movement on my part when depressing the trigger. It actually was nice to visually see how much movement I had when firing. After a few shots I was seeing less and less movement of the laser and more accurate readings. After a few minutes my wife wanted to try it out but she wanted more light on so she could see the target rings more clearly. I turned on the overhead fan light and started getting false readings from the reflection on the target. After maybe 2 min tops of adjustments, it was working perfectly again. Only issue then was after I pushed the start button my shadow went over the target and I got a false reading. I just needed to watch where my shadow was as I backed away. Having a 5 sec starter delay for you to get into position would solve that issue. Overall I give it 5 stars. It was fun, informative, and easy to troubleshoot when the lighting changed and false readings showed up. An app like this will require some fine tuning on the user end before it works perfectly so I would recommend this system to everyone. Thanks.

  • Great app. Would benefit from a PAR timer.

I like this app, and use it most frequently on my iPad. When using the native iPhone version on the iPad mounted horizontally, it's important to lock the screen in a vertical orientation before using. Otherwise the camera image gets all wonky.

Also, this app could really benefit from a PAR timer. Seems to be the only thing missing.

  • Great system for the money

I heard about this system on a podcast so I checked it out. Looked like it would work and was substantially less expensive than the high end trainers. Got it today and spent a few hours with it. Although it’s not perfect, I doubt it can be beat for the cost which is why I’m giving it 5 stars. In my living room, there are 6 can lights and the target reflects those pretty easily so I had a few tries to get the settings right to stop the fake hits, however, I was able to adjust it out and spent an hour or so working with it. My groups weren’t bad to start but in that short time, I was able to really separate trigger movement from barrel movement and improve. I moved it to a few rooms with other types of lights and had no fake hit problems, so I’m fairly certain the bright spot directly under one of the can lights was the reason for my initial adjustment needs and would likely be a worst case scenario. The adjustments for my iPhone 6 in the cradle were also not perfect but did work with a little fine tuning. Also, with a little tinkering to get the wires to get to the phone, I think I can hook my phone via HDMI and put the screen up on the TV so that I can see the display from far away. This will make a great training tool for the off season and I like it so much I just bought one for my father for Christmas.

  • Great app so far!!

Tried this app for the first time today and all I can say is it works great, for free you can’t beat this. Here is what I found out. First watch the little video on how to set it up once you do that it works as advertised. I can see I’m going to get the holder and try the Quick Draw.
  • Great app!

Other reviews claiming this app is inaccurate have either not calibrated the target zone properly, or are firing the laser in a well-lit area (both of which drastically affect the shot recording accuracy). I use this app indoors with a 9mm CZ Shadow 2 for IPSC training and it's invaluable. Once set up correctly, this app will help you record accurate shots and time your draw speed.
To the app developers: is there any possibility of adding UPSA/IPSC targets?
Overall, very pleased with this app and highly recommend it for people who dry fire.

  • Excellent

I have been working on the penny and pencil drills which didn't provide great feedback and weren't fun. The iTarget is great! Using a Glock 19/9mm, indoor practice, and the setup was really quick with no hassles. Excellent experience. Will update review as I try different environments and distances.
    Updated 9/28 - excellent still!

  • Great tool for dry fore practice

I started using the free app with a laser I already owned and mounted my iPhone on a homemade stand. I was so impressed that I purchased the second version when it was available and then one of the iTarget laser billets in another caliber. It does take some effort to adjust the sensitivity for varying light conditions but it has never failed to work once I got the adjustment correct. A lot of benefit for very little cost.

  • Awesome!

    This app is great!!!
  • Read Instructions!

I literally only have the app. I use my own laser, printed target and stand. If people would actually learn how to calibrate it and make sure their laser is bright enough to register you won't have an issue.

Setup takes a little time, but once you're done it's game on. Love the timer too so I can practice draw.
