Best Recipe App!

After trying several apps that would store my favorite recipes and work with my amazon echo show, I stumbled upon this and couldn’t be happier! Every other app I tried had bugs when working with amazon products but this works perfectly! I am able to add recipes from websites to my collection seamlessly just by copying and pasting the url of the site that contains the recipe. Where this app really shines is when I tell my echo show to display a recipe I’ve saved. I can view the ingredients and steps as split screen and I can have the steps even read to me if I choose. This makes cooking a breeze and so much more enjoyable! I highly recommend this!!!

Will not send email to set up account

App will not send an email so I cannot set up an account to link to Alexa. Frustrating.

Hello, Try sending an email to hal9000@souschef.recipes and then login again. I think your email provider may be delaying emails from unknown sources. I’ve noticed this seems to happen with yahoo users frequently for some reason. Also be sure to check your spam folder ;)

What’s the point?

This app is to terrible at converting recipes over from a website that I don’t see the point. You might as well use your smart phone than waste your time. You can’t insert ingredients and steps in where you want, so fixing the data that it missed is extra frustrating.

Alexa recipe app that works!

This is the only app that flows well to help me navigate recipes by voice via Alexa. I’m a longtime devotee of Paprika recipe manager, but I’ve added this second app to use when my hands are messy in the kitchen.

The best decision I ever made

I spent so much time trying to find a way to get my Alexa to read out recipes that could not found be found on partner websites and had given up when I saw a post from the developer and figured I had nothing to lose.

I went in with zero expectations and was completely FLOORED. It’s a small learning curve, but even my technology illiterate mother learnt how to use it in. In 15 minutes she had uploaded a recipe passed on to her from her grandmother and had Alexa reading it out to her. I cannot rave about this enough!

Allows you to put your own recipes in to use in google assistant

Works quite well, gets my Lenovo smart display/google assistant to do what it should be able to do out the box
Importing or entering recipes is a breeze

Formatting for iPhone XR

The formatting of the app on my iPhone XR doesn’t fit the screen well. I have a difficult time clicking on the icons at the top of the screen which makes the app very difficult to use. If this issue gets fixed I will probably use it, but for now it’s just frustrating.

Surprise Subscription

Surprise! You must buy subscription to have more than 3 recipes! Impossible to evaluate the 3-recipe free version of this app as a 3-recipe cook book is pretty useless.

Hello, I'm sorry you feel that way. How many recipes do you think it would take to evaluate the app? I could raise the limit although that wouldn't be fair to everyone that has already paid. Also the description of the app clearly states that a subscription ($0.99 USD/year) is required after three recipes, can I make that clearer in some way? Please contact help@souschef.recipes if you have ANY issues with the app, I'm more than willing to help. UPDATE: I have raised the limit to 10!
