  • Works OK but….

I’ve had a Puck model 2 for years. It has worked satisfactorily on iPads and iPhones. However, it eats batteries. I’m not a frequent user so I thought battery life would be more than several weeks (don’t know actual life because of infrequent use). Clearly it is using battery when not in use controlling my (old) Bose Wave Radio.

  • Worked on…

…zero of two TVs. Great idea guys. Better do another round to finance work on the software.

I'm sorry to hear of the issues getting PUCK set up. I hope our software updates help resolve this issue.
  • Last version crashes on iPhone SE 1st gen.

On iphone SE 1st gen and most likely on old small phones the app crashes after initial setup.
Didn’t take into account the screen size to use the older ui instead.
This is a lack of test cases.
    Waiting until the fix comes.
The good thing is that the developer knows about the bug and will fix it.
Until then I have to use the iPad.

Thank you for letting us know. We’ve been working on the update to address the SE UI and crashes and will push an update soon.
  • Very helpful

Hi, love it so much but I feel like I don’t use it often but I think of it as a app that helps me when I lose my remote so yeah love every thing about it. It’s very helpful. ♡´・ᴗ・`♡

This is awesome to hear. Thank you!
  • Good idea, disappointing execution

Setup is easy but there’s many frustrations with the devices and the app. They go through CR2032 batteries like crazy. The app would be much better if I could design my own remote layouts. Buttons I use often are hiding behind multiple clicks, very annoying. Finally, the app is very slow to start. On the latest iPhone 12 Pro, it takes several seconds for it to load and several seconds more to connect to the puck. Usually it would have been faster to get up and get the remote.

  • Simple and easy to use

Does what it says. Could use a few UI improvements but for a free app and inexpensive peripheral, it’s a great solution.
  • Please Update the App

I recieved the Puck in September as a birthday gift. At first I thought it would be just a novelty device. Nowadays almost every TV is a smart control enabled screen and each company has their own unique app with really accessible remote control features. In fact before DTV updated their remotes I was able to use the white DTV remote to control my tv and my DTV box and my movie player. Now that they phased that out, I have had to use two remotes for each tv. And if there was a DVD/Blu-ray system then I would have to use yet another remote to watch movies as well. Essentially, the puck is an amazing idea. It is executed in a portable way, however the lack of IR range is a bit of a disappointment. I find it impossible to control three systems with one Puck as it just can’t reach the wall mounted screen and the entertainment (tv/dvd/sound system) boxes. Beyond that the only real suggestion for this device is a software/app upgrade. Please. Please. Please. I find myself having to restart the app and reconnect to the puck each time I wish to use it even within five minutes of using the device. The interface is a bit confusing and the buttons are not intuitive without a tutorial. One has to figure out how to reconnect or disconnect. Maybe make the menu buttons less static so that when you open the device the main menu is simply two buttons that say Setup (one button) and Watch. Settings can be a separate menu item inside of the setup menu. The remote interface should definitely be customizable as in I should be able to add specific buttons to the primary remote screen without having to search through the list of possible functions each time I want to use a different button and the ability to use multiple devices without changing to a different remote would be very useful.

Thanks for your amazing feedback! We are about a month away from launching PUCK 2, which has a max IR range of 15-20 feet, firmware updates and more. We are also pushing out an app update that fixes the connections issues and notifies the user when a battery is low, prompting user the ability to purchase batteries directly from Amazon. We've also included a number of other bug fixes as well. Your other suggestions for custom remote is in development as well as voice integration for PUCK. If interested in getting access to the public beta, please email us and I'll send the link!
  • Working Good

I saw the bad reviews on this device, but I always prefer to try by myself. Is working good on my Samsung TV and Vizio TV no issues.
Sometimes people need a map to do easy things.

Thank you Zaid! We hope you enjoy our updates!
  • Great concept, bad execution.

These have been a disappointment. The installation instructions on the box reference an “arrow on top of the Puck” for aiming the IR however there is no arrow; confusing.
The adhesive on the back of one puck was not sticky and immediately fell off our TV, we had to use double-sided tape we had to affix the Puck.
The App frequently reports “no connection” requiring the app to be stopped and restarted to reconnect to the Pucks.
The Pucks seem to only work with one Smartphone. I setup the Puck app on my phone for installation/configuration, after I had both Pucks working on my phone I setup my wife’s phone, although she was able to connect to the Pucks but her app had no control of the TV or Soundbar.
    Great concept, poor execution.

  • It’s the simple things

Easy to set up, easy to use. No more remote! Suffice it to say, I’m happy.
