Leave a Review The Trail
To the developers:
This is a really great game. It’s entertaining and I can easily play it for hours. It gets more challenging as you go but it’s nice that you can use the map to move around different campsites that you’ve been to.
The one thing is there’s a glitch that when you add to your town’s goods collection (that get traded for town gold once a day), it doesn’t update until you restart the app. So like for example, it’ll say there’s 2/11 sticks in the box, I’ll add 8 sticks, and on the screen where you can add more it’ll say 10/11, but little screen on the top right that drops down when you click on the town icon, will still say 2/11 when I’m at home/at a camp/on the trail.
The app has also been crashing a lot for me lately when I try to go between my house or the town to a camp or vice versa, especially after I’ve added something to the town goods collection; or sometimes the app just crashes when I try to open it the first several times. I hope an update fixes this soon as this is a really great game.Show lessThe best mobile game I have played
This game is an amazing masterpiece I will always love! It starts off with a sense of exploration and finding new lands, then leads into progressing your character. I log in very often, and it is definitely a great game to play, say ,on a long flight or road trip. There are no ads unless you want a random item from the lady with the sign, and you can play offline with most features. I do wish the devs still supported it, and as an amateur game developer myself, I think I would like to make a game like this too. There are a few bugs and things I wish could be in the game, like the birch and mesquite lumber yards, and he bug after crafting where you have to exit out of the game to get the item unfrozen. Overall, great game, with a bit more work it could easily be one of the most popular games on the market.
Sidenote: I have heard that the steam version is better, so I plan on getting that despite having to pay for it, look for me in the reviews :)Show lessWhy is Kongregate like this?? UGH
This game is legitimately one of the few apps I’ve kept on my phone and stayed active on, and it’s so gorgeous. Everything about this game scratches a brain itch I didn’t know I had: aesthetics, sound track, gathering, crafting, the town community, all of the different locations, EVERYTHING. It’s truly wonderful.
However, it’s very disappointing as a consumer that this developer has other apps they actively update (rather regularly, I will add) and this isn’t one of them. I completely empathize with having to make certain games priority, but I just feel like The Trail is a gem of an app and it deserves to be prioritized too. There are ppl in my town in game that have been playing since this game first came out, and have restarted multiple times just to enjoy it over and over again. THAT says something!
Additionally, if you - the developers - are still going to accept in-app purchases, you should be updating the game. If people are paying money in the app, it should be continued to be improved upon (which there is SO much potential for, this game is - again - a GEM of a game!!) Honestly, it’s incredibly deceitful for Kongregate to continue accepting in-app purchases on a game they don’t touch, when new players will expect to spend money and keep advancing…just to realize there is a hard-ending point due to lack of updating. That’s bullsh*t truthfully!Show less
