Handy but Unforgiving
I'm happy the sloper app allows you to download the guidebooks or specific areas you're going to. However, I made a mistake when recording a send retroactively and found out you can't delete it. Became super frustrated trying to figure out how to remove it only to find out you can't. Not going to record sends on Sloper until that gets changed.

Missing Parking/Approach, Search Features and logs out.
Edit: I lowered the rating from 2 to 1. Three times I have used the downloaded maps in areas without signal, and every time it has logged me out after a few minutes. You cannot log back in without signal. So if you lose signal you lose the app. Why offer downloaded maps if I have to be connected to use them?!

This app does not seem to give the first piece of information needed… where is the crag? If I’m driving around Bow Valley wanting to climb say Grotto Canyon, it gives no information as to where that crag is, where to park, or what the approach to the crag is. Not a great start. Then if I’m trying to find a climb the only option is to go through every menu of every crag in every book… the app has amazing details for every climb recorded (grade, rating, type of holds, slab vs overhang, pumpy vs technical, etc) but no way to find a climb using that. At a bare minimum I’d like a filter to just view crags that have climbs in a grade range and star rating. But seeing as all this extra information is stored, I should be able to use it to filter “4 star+, 5.10-5.11, vert…”. I’d say this app is only useful if you already know what crag you want to go to and how to get there… It has also twice given me errors because I had no signal, and wouldn’t even let me view the guidebooks that I had downloaded. Once it just logged me out and wouldn’t let me back in. I had to reinstall and redownload all the guides. The guidebooks are good though, just needs features added and bugs fixed.

Not a replacement for a paperback guidebook
App is not great. Downloading a guide book will fail if you don’t keep the app open or your screen turns off. Back button doesn’t work sometimes. Not super easy to navigate. App also hasn’t be updated to work with the latest iPhone models. In fact, the app hasn’t been updated in over a year…
Downloaded this app because the Needles of Rushmore guidebook is out of print. I’ve climbed there before and the guidebook is the best for the area, but you can’t find a paper copy anywhere. Instead, the book’s store page links to this app. Worst part is this app charges you $5 a month to get access to the guide books. Wouldn’t be such an insult if they kept the app up to date or updated the information. I’d much rather just buy the book if I could and never use this app again.
If you aren’t specifically looking for a guide book, I’d recommend using another app.

Incomplete and buggy
Missing routes, incomplete topos, and buggy software makes for a unpleasant experience. Relying on sloper exclusively to find climbs would be a mistake. However, sloper has a lot of potential. Unfortunate it is the last few pieces that count in this case.
Bugs as of August 2021:
Forced sign out and did not allow me to log back in. Now I have two paid sloper subs.
Back button sits over previous app button.

Decent App
The app is very useful, but be forewarned- Apple makes it very difficult to cancel subscriptions...it should just be accessible through the app or the App Store, but you have to go into your settings, and then go to Apple ID, then to subscriptions and cancel it from there.
Great app .
Excellent compliment to guidebooks. Easy to use . Very extensive for Bow Valley , ab, Canada.
Great app, very clear and well done
Very nice app, the interface is really cool, specially the sector maps and the panoramas with the routes. Color codes allows you to find quickly what route is accessible to your level.
Not that much topos, would be amazing to have more stuff but it’s a great start 👌
Would hesitate to take some other monthly subscriptions for climbing trips, totally worth it!

Pretty Interface with a few routes speckled across the w
Pros:
Pretty Interface
Cons:
Loads extremely slowly, painfully so.
Very few areas
Minimal options
No climbs for most people in most places.
No route submissions
Theres no community submission option, which automatically makes this a cute attempt, but an abject failure for its purposed purpose. No company can make a successful and vast crag library without on the ground contributors. Period.
Open submissions and ratings for the community, then your app will succeed.

Staring at a loading crags screen
Can’t use the app, stable internet connection but it keeps dropping out on the download so I could never get past the 1st screen.
Excellent app!
For the look of it is an amazing app to take to the crags!
I’m just waiting for the Blue Mountains update! Hope it will be available soon!!
