Not able to use without paying

The page stuck on trying free trail and pay afterwards and no cross on the right top to close the page. It popes up and will stuck there if you don’t agree to tray for free! Then have to pay!

Response from developer

Hi there - It sounds like the 'X' to exit the trial offer screen and then proceed to the free version didn't display and we do apologize for this. Removing features to milk $$

I paid for a year-long subscription with this app, during which time they never fixed a major bug with the way the app syncs to other health apps to give you personalized insights during your fasts. I reached out to them multiple times — each time, they blamed the other apps, even though none of those other apps had any other syncing issues and worked seamlessly with each other and with Apple’s Health app. Since they never fixed this major issue, I let my subscription expire, figuring I’d just use the simpler features offered on the free version (without personalized insights, basically a slightly more sophisticated timer app). Then with the most recent update, THEY REMOVED ALL OF THESE FEATURES as well, hiding them behind a paywall!!! The free version is now just a simple timer, and they’re asking users to pay more money for the same un-updated content that used to be free.

If they had made any actual improvements to the app during the year I was subscribed, or even just added additional useful content, I would still be a subscriber. Instead, they’re removing features hoping to trick people into paying over and over again for the same simple product. Don’t waste your money thinking they’ll give you regular updates or improved features, they won’t. Every “improvement” has been to increase prices while removing features and only making minor cosmetic changes.

Hi there - Thanks for this feedback. When a subscription expires the app automatically reverts to the free version of Zero which is a basic version containing the timer, select content, and a week view of data). The app offers subscription features for those who wish to monitor their fasts along with collated data and access exclusive content that's updated regularly, subsciber Challenges and more. The app's price has not increased in 4 years. The app does not currently have a widespread bug with syncs to other health apps (Apple Health, Fitbit, Oura). Lost it’s way

At its core, this application is a simple timer that gives you a notification when that timer is up. I’ve been using this for years. First came accounts, then promoted content, then auto selected notifications for promoted content and now with all those notifications disabled, I receive promotions about their new premium service asking me to give them money per month. I’m done now. I’m uninstalling. I imagine that I’m going to be constantly pressured to consider giving money or signing up to affiliate content. Trying to make money for a business is great, but at the end, this is just a timer for ~16 hours and a notification and I dislike how much I’m being pestered.

Hi Scott - Thanks for taking the time to let us know this feedback. While the free version of Zeor is still available the app may display optional subscription information (especially when a Zero Plus [Zero+] subscription feature is tapped). Just tap the 'X' to exit the subscription screen. Zero does not have an affiliate program. If you've any additional feedback or any questions please send an email to support@zerolongevity.com with the details and include reference # 77985 and a member of our support team will assist you 1-on-1. –Team Zero

Great for tracking fasts

Pretty sub par for everything else. Fitbit sleep imports have the correct duration, wrong times though. Can’t use the “help” options in the app to communicate with Zero devs just keeps asking if I want help to troubleshoot which I don’t want. Not like I have any options available to alter how Zero import data from Google/fitbit. Suspect my issue is going to come down to “are you use an Apple device? Are you using an Apple tracker aka an Apple Watch? No? Then you should use an Apple Watch with your Apple device, why are we even talking about this 🤷”

Which is fair I suppose… I’ll switch to Apple Watch in about 6 months and update accordingly once sleeps show up properly in Zero.

Incessant full screen ads have ruined the experience for me

This was my preferred fasting app for years, but for the past two months I’ve had to dismiss a full-screen advert for Zero Plus every single time I open the app. This was a small irritation at first. But after weeks upon weeks of dismissing the same advert every single time I interact with the app I’ve found it to be an unjustifiable nuisance.

I understand the desire for apps to push their subscription services, and the occasional popup is to be expected. But having my user experience interrupted every single time I use the app to push a subscription service I will never pay for means Zero is unfortunately no longer for me. In my opinion, making the user experience of the free version deliberately worse is not the right way to push users to buy plus.

Hi there — Thanks for reaching out! Most Zero users are free users, and in order to support a free experience we do rely on some paid subscribers. That said, you shouldn't be receiving offers that often, and we can help with this! Please contact our support team at support@zerolongevity.com and reference #73642 —Team Zero

Very good

I just renewed my subscription, so I’m obviously happy with the app. However it’s pretty pricey considering there is little personalization during fast times. For example, there’s no way to add consumption while fasting. I’d like to add when I’ve had tea or coffee, or taken my supplements. If I’ve had a teaspoon of cinnamon or half teaspoon of cayenne during my fast, it affects my zones and I’d like the option to add it. I’d like to monitor hydration with water during a fast, on the same app I monitor my meals. Maybe the app isn’t developed yet to tweak individual small changes during a fast, but it might be worth exploring.
Finally, it seems strange that my fasts always start in the anabolic zone, even if I’ve only eaten small keto meals for a week (when not fasting). Shouldn’t it start in a different zone in that case? I don’t know, I’m not an expert and these are just observations/suggestions. I am very happy with the variety of options and information the app has, and with the app overall.

Great App, a lot of room for improvement

I love this app and it is very informative and makes fasting a lot more positive. Now that I've finally started understanding what my body is doing during a fast and how I can accelerate fat burn during one I have had a ton of success. From weight loss to more energy and a better mental state, they have all improved. The one thing I would like to see be better is the food intake logging, sleep and hydration. They have you type a few words and it's very vague and not exact. I feel as though precision is key with understanding your health and every little detail you can add matters. I have another app I use to log everything I eat, drink and take as well as what workouts I do and how long and it works great. However, I don't get the knowledge and advice I get with Zero and it doesn't put the Fasting center stage like Zero does. Combined, they are great, but if I could scan a barcode and have my intakes recorded with Zero too I think I would have a better understanding of why I'm seeing results and how to be even more successful in the future. Just my two cents! I'm a premium subscriber and my experience has been extremely positive so it's obviously worth it!

Best around

Some of the things I love about Zero is that it is practical , useful, easy and the free version works. Unlike nearly every other app who force you into buying, Zero doesn’t, which makes me use their full version because of the extras but, principally because of their service.
WELL DONE ZERO and thank you !!

Makes you sign up then forces subscription

What’s the point of going through the sign up process and syncing my data from health app just to be forced to subscribe?!
