Simple and reliable
The best hiking navigation app. Simple and has maps. Plus it lets you add comments. And it’s free! The only thing I would add was the ability to add waypoints to the database for when I see campsites that aren’t in there already.roddyloco
Great AT app and free!
I didn’t want to shell out the money for Guthook, especially without trying it first. Found this app and it’s great! While it doesn’t have the amount of info as a complete guidebook, it’s free. I have a paper guide for the AT and also use this app. Together it’s perfect. This app lets me see where I am, what’s coming up, the elevation gain and loss. Really great to plan ahead. Sometimes it has Hostel info and such. I did see a few spots where the trail must have been rerouted and this app doesn’t know that but hey, for a free app this is amazing for what you get!Show lessDanny Strayer
Great App for Appalachian Trail Navigation
This is a great app that allows you to easily see how far you are from the Appalachian Trail. Once you are on the trail it is very easy to see what is ahead or behind you with detailed mileage information. Each waypoint has more information and shelters are bolded which make them easy to find. There is also information and data for several trails that cross the Appalachian Trail. This is a great app that any Appalachian Trail hiker would find very valuable.Show lessMaxwellG
