  • By far the best MS SQL SERVER Client for iPad

I have been using iPads almost since the first one came out and never found a database client that worked well for me (been through numerous ones trying over the years) till now. Before had to pull out my laptop to do anything, now for most stuff I easily work on things from the iPad.

Only infinitesimal issue I have is wish it had better options for execution plans since I need to optimize queries a lot, but that may not even be possible. Just so happy to have a client that works.

  • Good tool, fair price

It works well. I can connect to all my SQL Server servers using windows authentication & named instances, view tables, write and run queries, etc. The interface takes some getting used to, but I understand the challenge of squeezing at least the basic functionality of SSMS into a touch interface. 9.99/year is a very fair price, especially since you can use the basics for free.

I’ve seen some sluggish performance, and auto-complete seems clunky at best (are these two connected, at least for me)? But it’s awfully nice to have a tool this good available on iOS.

Hi! I just wanted to take a second and thank you for the review. I also wanted to check in on the autocomplete to try and get a few more details. If you get the chance, please email me directly via kyle @ hankinsoft.com. If possible, I would like to know if you are using iPhone or iPad and if you could expand on what you are seeing/what I could improve so that I can make some changes to it. Thanks again!
  • Incredible but pricy

First, I have the trial installed on my MacBook and the free version on my iPad, and they blow away any competition. Beautiful design that is easy on the eyes, and really quick. I really hope I can keep using this on my iPad, the link described it as a beta. I’d happily pay to have this on my Mac and iPad, but $80 for the Mac version and $40 for the iPad is just too much, considering that even VS Code has the capability to do simple stuff in MSSQL. I think this developer has the ability to become the standard MSSQL IDE for Mac and iOS, but this price is just nuts. However, thanks to the developer for offering the iOS version free, this might just convince me to buy the Mac version too.

  • Love it!

I’ve been using this in macOS for a long time and am stoked to finally see it in iOS! Having this on my iPad means a significant portion of my work can be done natively while mobile rather than having to log in to a remote workstation. Very highly recommend! Also, the developer is very responsive and helpful any time I came across an issue he would help me troubleshoot the problem to resolution.

  • Looks great but ...

Upgraded my review to 5 stars. This is the best app of this kind. I tried many.

BTW. Support was impeccable! Problem solved!

Crashes on my iPad when I am in a results tab and click Edit.

I can see the query history but couldn’t figure out how to save a query.

    Developer Response

Hi! Very sorry about the crash. Is there any chance you could email me your table structure so I can try and reproduce? You can directly email by going into 'Settings' (the gear at the top right of the connections screen), support -> email. File saving/loading is underway and will hopefully be in the next version!
  • Export feature is great

I’ve long been a fan of this same app on MacOS. Its great to see an iOS version. This last release included an export of the entire result set which is infinitely better than manually selecting rows to export. Its nice that one connection is supported for free and multiple connections require an upgrade which is fair. However, I do feel the upgrade price is steep. Perhaps a tiered approach would be possible.
