So I think the concept of this is great and could definitely be expanded as apparently that is happening. The cost of $2.99 per five or ten pack of NPC’s is a little steep... I’d maybe pay $0.99 per pack of ten or $4.99 to unlock all. Half of the purchase-ablepcjs aren’t completed yet so they shouldn’t be for sale at the same price. More legends
Great little app, bought 2 of the packs may pick up more in future… definitely need some dwarves.
I have 2 issues that are holding me back:
1). The initial pack could be more racially diverse, it’s make sense to give a broad range of races but limited to 1 or 2 of each gender
2). The legends are overly repetitive, I expected to unlock more than just photos with each purchase. A little disappointed I didn’t get some halftime customised legends when I bought that pack. Each race has a unique heritage & that isn’t really being reflected currently.
Other than that, for generating random talking NPCs it’s great. I have another generator I use for more detailed ones with Stats, Actions & Features for 5e… if you could integrate stuff like that into this app it would be perfect.Show lessSkywalker_Dark79
Its wonderful but....
This is such a good idea as a way to keep track of your npc characters! However only human npcs are free to unlock every race each pack is $2.99 aprox $3 with tax so $48 total for all of them.
Id rather pay a set price for core races at least and then the more uncommon pay for them than try and buy them all. I can buy a dnd book for that price.

Dear Knights of Vasteel,
I love your app and it has proven very helpful in making my campaign, but today when I opened it I found I could not download the dwarf artwork without paying. I bought the app previous to this update, so I’m quite disappointed.
The app pre-update never allowed me to download the dark-elf pack before this either.
In conclusion your app is incredible but I’m hoping that there might be some way to get the artwork without spending any more money. Thank you for this incredible app!Show lessKalmia-Latifolia

I read they are in the midst of switching from a paid app, to a free app with purchases. I downloaded perhaps a month after the announcement.
When I went to download, the app asked me to purchase the free content, but didn’t list a price. I had to ‘buy’ them all
EDIT: I want to update my review in case my comment has put anyone off towards buying this app. Developer personally reached out to me with explanation of how they are handling their transition. Very happy with them.
Speaking towards satisfaction with the app after ~1 week and 1 play session... the group loved it. It gave some more personality to my NPCs. Would recommend the app to anyone, especially given the customer service from the devs. Thanks a bunch!Show lessxLangatanGx

Hey xLangatanGx. Sorry for the confusion during this transition period! In order for you to unlock the packs in your Apple account indefinitely, Apple requires that you purchase the packs. We wanted our early supporters to always be able to access the original art but didn't want them to pay any additional money. The solution we came up with was to temporarily set the packs to cost $0, and have our users go through and 'buy' all of the packs. It is a bit tedious but we hope that ultimately it will keep our users happy since they will have lifetime access to the original artwork through their Apple account.Only one thing...
Excellent app design and great artwork.
Such a shame the characters do not have more depth. Things that in my opinion are missing are mannerisms, general description of statistics, talents, flaws, specific traits...Lorenzo739532
