Thanks for your feedback. The 7 characters is actually a minimum requirement rather than a forced maximum. Admittedly it is not clear from the message on screen. We will have this fixed in the next version (2.4.9). The error messages staying on screen is also a bug which was missed by our testing team. It should be fixed in the next version as well.
