Continues to disappoint
I’ve been playing this game basically since it first was released. It has so much potential, but the developers seem intent on not realizing it. First, solo challenges are not fun! The only reason I play is to get coins. Part of what makes it not enjoyable is that the game is intentionally set up to give the human player awful tiles. Giving me 10 vowels in a row, but the bot the Z, X, and J plus good vowels is not “hard,” it is impossible. Another (related) issue is the dictionary. So many words are used that are not English or ever used by English speakers. Half the time when I check the definition, the words are from Arabic countries it seems, which I have no idea how anyone would know or think to use; but other common words are not allowed! Finally, The best part about this game was duels / lightning round / etc., and it has been gone for a long time despite them saying it would return. Very frustrating. Honestly, the only reason I haven’t deleted the game yet is because I’ve been playing a few people so long. I’d like to see this game succeed, but there needs to be a change in the vision of what success looks like. I’d really like to see a subscription model. Stop trying to nickel and dime users to death. Just let me pay for the service, and then you try to make the service as good as you possibly can for users. Until that happens, these same annoying issues will keep holding the game back from its potential.

Great game about collecting things!
This is a game about collecting things. There’s loads of different things to collect: coins, tickets, paint-drops, trophies, power-ups, stickers, tiles, and books. Some of them can be earned, some bought, and some obtained by converting one type of collectible into another. There’s a complex meta-game where you have to figure out how all these collectibles interact, but I think that one’s strictly for the PhDs.
The collection game is slightly spoiled by the continual stream of ads (or, if you’ve paid the eye-watering monthly cost to disable them, pop-ups encouraging you to collect some more stuff). Handily though, the game sends you plenty of notifications to remind you to carry on with your collecting.
I’ve heard rumours that there’s even some sort of word game easter-egg buried within the app, but haven’t been able to verify that myself yet.

Not what it used to be
I miss how words with friends was simply and had no silly notifications about games with AI… I thought it was with friends, not AI fake characters?!
It is no longer what it was originally about unfortunately, and despite my buying the premium version back in the days I am flooded now with ads and stupid notifications I can’t turn off, which is why I quit what used to be my favorite game on iPhone, and the only one I never deleted..

Clutter
These people started out with a great game. Simple and challenging. Now they are cluttering it up with rewards and a myriad of time wasters which have caused it to become unstable. ..they need to go back to a simple game
No more Solo Challenges
Been playing this game since 2011. Upgraded to the ad-free version when it cost almost nothing. When they started, I got hooked into the solo challenges. High pressure games against one other opponent, thirty seconds to post a word, five moves, awesome. When the new version came out, no more solo one-on-one games. Gonezo.
I googled it, and a clever person on Reddit said that the solo challenges are still there on the original version. I still had the original version and never opened the new version because the traditional games were no longer as fun or interesting. Anyone can go to WWF cheat site and come up with a five-letter word with the right letters placed where you need them. But in a lightning or solo round, there is no time for these cheats. It makes the game more honest.
The chat feature can be annoying, with scammers galore. In my case they posed as attractive females working overseas for the military. They try to engage you in conversation and have you jump to another app like IG to start messaging. Are they after money? Don’t know, never stuck around long enough to find out.
But now, the WWF police have removed the solo challenges from the original version as well. So, now WWF is back to its boring self. Sure, were there bots that played you in the solo challenges and posed no challenge. Yeah. But they only came up after you lost two consecutive games.
I want the solo challenges back. Period. Otherwise I’m dumping this app.

Pop ups and gambling
There are still SO MANY pop ups, and this latest “Party Palace” with “prizes” is a total rort. It’s basically slot machine gambling. Not what I want in what is supposed to be a family friendly word game. Basically all the extra games to “win” extra coins are a total waste of time, the “prizes” are worthless. And you can’t turn off all these extra popups and reminders.
Bring back the focus onto the main point of the app - the Totally-Not-Scrabble game. It has such good gameplay and options in and of itself. It doesn’t NEED all the extra rubbish. Make the monthly subscription more reasonable and you’d get SO many more premium members.

Not Listening Still!!!
Updated 29 July - your complaints/suggestions quote “we’re sorry etc’ is really a load of tosh, you don’t seem to care about those customers that want to play a simple game with their real friends, not computer generated friends. Today I was told that I have 10 games waiting, being puzzled as I don’t play against 10 people, I had a look, zero games waiting. Now all of a sudden there is the annoying ‘collect trophies’. Every time I was asked ‘did I want to collect trophies’ I replied ‘No’, however I now keep being told how many trophies I have and what they can be used for. Please give your loyal customers the option to turn these annoying additions off.

I do not want to see games from the likes of Nicole G (Super Score), Theophrastus and R&B Brad waiting for me that I do want to play against. Rules
I’ve been playing for a number of years and two things I get annoyed with…..no player should ever be stuck with all vowels or no vowels even after spending points to get them or get rid of them.
When you send a note to someone there should be a more noticeable alert that you have a message. Also, after sending a message there should be some indication that the recipient has actually seen the message. Good luck!

Disappointing
I am disappointed that you can’t play practice games offline any more.
I am disappointed that the 2 team games aren’t offered any more. I don’t like all the frilly bits like tile colours, stickers and badges. I’m sure if the designers really looked at what people were actually using, the majority aren’t interested in the rubbish, they just want to play words. I don’t like having to press ‘great’ when something is not great! I am disappointed that some adds require you to wait and press three x buttons before you can finally move on…surely 1 x button is enough to tell them you aren’t interested in their product!!! I like the word wheel puzzles, that was why I gave WWF a second star. I have been playing for 12 years, think I’ve just about had enough. I don’t think they really cater to what most people want, certainly everyone I speak to has the same complaints.
