Scrabble Go Go Gone!
This could be a good app, but there are too many annoying features: (1) All the infuriating rewards that you are forced to take and do not intend to use. I don’t want a pretty ribbon round my icon. I don’t want different frickin tiles. I just want to play Scrabble. Give me a way of opting out. (2) The adverts are horrendous. I get it. You need to make this pay and I, and I suspect many others, don’t want to pay for the ad free version, it’s pretty expensive! But why allow such pain in the neck ads that (a) play for ages (b) require endless clicks to dismiss them (c) try and hide the exit buttons and (d) try and trick you onto the web or App Store. I’ve got to the point where I make a play and just close the app and restart it. I’m almost the point of abandoning the game. If it gets much worse (and it is getting worse) it will be simply too irritating. And then once the ads finish you pop up a screen suggesting I go ad free and when I dismiss that you pop up notices telling me this challenge or that challenge has started. Yuk!Show lessFun game, awful app
Yeah man I mean Scrabble is fun. This is Scrabble. But it’s like the app is trying to rob all possible joy out of the experience, it’s incredible to see it working against itself with such vigor. Mind-numbing loading times every single time you reopen the app, packed to the wall with oppressive ads that invade every element, every space of the app. I mean there are literally MULTIPLE ads after EVERY single turn. It’s faster to close the app and reopen it than to sit through all the ads (and again, that’s even with the excruciating loading times)! Not to mention all the frivolous add-ons, chests and prizes and cards and random useless things, which, hey, if you wanna add a new element to your game, whatever. But there’s no option to skip these animations, and the app forces you to go through these tutorials of how to access your “chest” or your “special tiles” or whatever, things you never need to use if you simply want to play Scrabble, and it just creates an incredible SLOW, CLUNKY, EXCRUCIATING gaming experience. That’s not even to mention all the times the app will inexplicably crash after 5 seconds of use. Honestly man, just get Words With Friends. I only use this app because I have ongoing games with certain friends. And I’m beginning to resent them for it.Show lessGood, but crazy with ads
I got this game during COVID so I could continue to keep in touch with family members and play fun interactive games that also kept my brain engaged, and this game is good for that. In general, I understand that ads help to keep a game running if you don’t have to pay for anything before downloading the app itself, but the frequency of each ad in this app is absurd. You can’t go one turn without being forced to sit through a 10 second ad (at least), and often, the game gives so many ads that the app itself freezes and you have to close the app completely in order to get back to where you were. The only reason I still have it downloaded is because my family members enjoy playing with me because we don’t see each other as often as we’d like. If it was up to me, I’d delete it now. I’m sick of it.
*Another thing to note: this is true of most apps out there, but there are bots who try to steal your information on this app. There’s a feature where you can send messages to your opponent — which is meant for game history and polite trash talk — and a lot of the fake players will ask you for your name and socials. Do not respond to any of those messages. I shouldn’t have to say that but it’s just a reminder; it’s untrustworthy and easy to fall for.Show lessDeveloper Response
