Glitchy

App does not sync with Mac. Setup not straight forward. Good main app but not easy adding data without and solid iPhone sync feature. Frustrating and regret buying it.

Locks up when using camera

Cannot take photos on iPhone 14 Pro Max

Response from developer

The issue has been fixed in version 1.12

Good potential but camera do not work!

It is impossible to take a picture of an item, this is a big issue when this app is based on it!

Needs work.

Has potential with a good layout but the screens don’t work properly when entering an item.

It’s OK but very flakey

I’ve been using this in earnest for the last few days. It’s a great app to enable you to input data for the Mac version of the app. However, it appears to be very unstable. First of all, once you have added about 12 items (some with photos) but have not yet synced with the Mac, it starts to slow down seriously to the extent that five seconds could go by after you have pressed a camera button or your text input follows on about five seconds after you have typed. If that’s not bad enough, once you get up to about 20 items, some with photos, the app crashes in a spectacular way. It takes the iPhone with it. That’s really got to be the first app I have ever known to crash the phone. This happens regularly. I thought that after I had synced the data with the Mac it would be OK again but it’s not. It needs to be removed entirely from memory before you start again, always keeping an eye on the number of items you’ve added. I think, to play safe, you need to sync after 12 items and then start over again. Otherwise, the idea is great. I’m using it on an iPhone XS Max.

Great app when synced with Mac application

I have reviewed several home inventory applications and have found this to be very easy to use. The free iPhone app allows for simple barcode scanning and uploading into my Mac laptop. I have entered multiple items from 2 different properties and it’s easy to keep my records straight, easy to enter the data, and filter for the results I need for printing.

Barcode scan does nothing

The directions say to get a clear picture of the barcode on an item and “the scan will start automatically.” It doesn’t. It does nothing. You scan, it feeds the UPC number into a text field, and then sits there. Pretty disappointing considering barcode scanning ability with combined search of databases like Amazon has been around for years now. Free or not, I wasted my time with this app.

Response to the developers: no, I don’t think you actually understand what I’m saying. First off: your wording in your own instructions is what misleads folks into thinking of some automatic search.

But more to the point: without the ability to do a search for data, just having an app to export photos to the desktop version is meaningless. My phone’s camera can already take pictures and then upload them to my computer for ANY software to use.

A home inventory app with a mobile counterpart is meaningless if the mobile part is just a redundant glorified camera app tied to a file drop script, which is what you’ve described.

As I already said originally: this is embarrassingly lazy and meaningless when other apps have been able to do mobile app counterparts that can do the search and import data to create new entries, not just upload photos. If that’s what you set out to do and then shrug and say “that’s why it’s free,” my answer is “more like that’s why nobody will pay for it.”

If you’re going to the trouble of making an app in this field, look to the better apps out there and try and see what they’re NOT doing. But offering even less capabilities when those abilities have clearly been around for years in other developers’ mobile versions is sad. And again: a waste of a user’s time, if they already have a phone with a camera (meaning everyone).

Response from developer

The barcode scan works as expected - it reads the barcode and transfers it to the serial number field. The purpose of this free app is to take your inventory photos and transfer them to the main Mac Home Inventory application - not to provide you with information from the Amazon database.

Total piece of crap.

Doesn’t store a single entry, or a single photo. Not one.

Back to the drawing board for these Bozos..!

Response from developer

It is not supposed to keep photos in your App after they get transferred to the main Mac application. It's only purpose is to feed photos to the Mac application. If you expected it to be a full featured home inventory iOS app - it is not. That's why it is free.

Nice

Does what I need well

Crashes when trying to scan barcodes

Crashes every single time

Response from developer

The barcode related crash has been fixed in version 1.5
