Leave a Review Storm Radar
App has become buggy with every update.
This used to be my most favorite app ever until they handed it over to amateur programmers to practice with then they start charging for it. I was a firm believer the app was trustworthy. Unfortunate i can not say that I feel that way anymore. With every update it ends up with new bugs. I have sent so so so many emails with screenshots describing the glitches that I never get a reply back anymore. Not even a thank you for pointing out the glitch. Spoiler alert: I pay a yearly subscription to be their lab rat. I notice the glitches get fixed with the next update but can not believe other new glitches are created. I’ve read some of the reviews and giggle when they comment how that can’t see forecast instead they get a blank screen. Yeah. You have to mess around with doing a full screen and then back to make it work. It’s stuff like that makes me wonder if they test the updates before they release it. (Nah. I seriously doubt it.) I wonder what weather app the new amateur programmers use. Maybe one day I will get a reply email back for pointing out the new glitches they have caused and they will tell me what app they use. I wish I could get a refund and move on, but I hate to waste my money. Only got a couple of months left anyways. I might just bounce to another app regardless. Why’s the odds of me falling into the same trap?Show lessThey have totally broken this app
The latest versions and fixes to this once-great app are really disappointing on the iPhone as well as iPad versions. Starting just a few months ago they just broke it. You have to swipe and reopen the app several times for it to show the daily and hourly summaries - it just hangs. Sometimes that doesn’t even work. Now, during this critical time in South Carolina with TS Debby reeking havoc, I can’t even get a daily/hourly summary to come up to know what to expect in my location. Nothing but the spinning wheel at the top.
I tried to offer detailed comments directly to support several months ago and they acknowledged this and other issues with promises to fix it and it’s worse than ever on both devices. You seriously need to rollback to about January and start over with your upgrades. As a former software developer and 40+ year IT support person, I can tell your boot camp coders have made a total disaster out of this product. This is what you get when you hire barely-not teenager “coders” (what a laugh) who can’t do anything other than their boot camp programming, know nothing from their sad public school education and have no experience in the real world with carefully developing and upgrading apps. They just throw out the changes and hope for the best I guess. We are not your testers out here in the real world! Get your act together.
I’m already searching for a replacement weather app.Show lessImportant to know
It’s important to know what kind of weather is expected on a daily basis. Our weather forecasts change in an instant! So if we can be a little prepared for what might come each day…well it’s at least one thing we don’t have to worry about.
We check in with STORM RADAR every morning and then usually a few times during the day.
We love the alerts we get to let us know about bad weather conditions that may affect our area of the world. STORM RADAR is right on the money with letting us know of rain expected in 15 minutes. I enjoy waiting to see how close to that 15 minutes they actually get to. It’s saved my husband from being on the lawnmower a few times. He’d be about to get things going in the yard and an alert would come on that rain was expected within 15 minutes…So I would go out each time and tell him and he’d stopped and put away his yard equipment and soon after the rain would come.
So all that to say this…we love it…it’s worth getting, so what are you waiting for?Show less
