  • Could be good

The gameplay is fun though repetitive, but the technical difficulties take all the fun out of it. You are rewarded for winning three times in a row with victory keys, but most times, the third game won’t start even after an hour of waiting, which forces me to close the app and lose the streak due to something that wasn’t my fault. In the future, if more elements are added, such as higher maps or tag team games, and the technical errors are fixed, I would reconsider my review.

  • Quick PvP Boardgame Fun!

Very rarely will I take the time to write a review for any game at all however Dicast has grabbed me. As an avid boardgame enthusiast outside of iOS it's been hard to find a game that satisfies the desire to play a competitive boardgame whilst still fitting the short timeframe one would expect on a mobile game.

Dicast does both of these and does it with finesse!

There is a great polish to the game, simplistic strategy wrapped with tactical choices. Each action you take is meaningful, dice are still random but enough in your control that you can feel like the outcome of each turn was almost completely in your power.

If you were unsure about the game, or looking for something new to enjoy, you've clearly given a bit of time to read this far so please take an extra moment to download the game! After a couple of games I'm sure you'll be hooked!

UPDATE: I just wanted to return to address some of the comments regarding constantly losing or dice being against you. There is the option to edit a selection of (cards for your) dice that will be given to you in each game. Once you unlock a few of these you can really have a bit more control on outcomes. Make a choice between Random/Even/Odd or single numbers for better outcomes.

  • Good game, but listen to the fans!

My first impressions after a short amount of time are that this is a very fun game, but the RNG can be very unforgiving resulting in you really only winning 50% of the time. That being said if you stack your deck right, I can see there being times you may be able to turn the game around in your favor. I have still only won 50% of my battles however. My only other critique at the moment would be that this game could really benefit from AI PvE or at the least more precise matchmaking. All too often it seems you get teamed up with someone, who despite being your level, has skills and things that you’ve never seen. Did they pay for them? Not sure, but by the third turn it’s easy to see which way the game is going to go. Overall I’ve had fun, but I do feel these things need to be looked into.

  • Ribzz

Very good game so far. I’m enjoying playing it. One thing I have problem with is I can’t change my nickname. After typing it in it tells me it’s an invalid nickname. Tried a few but same response... Other than that it’s a fun game. Also, I agree with some gamers that you can tell pretty much at the start of game who will win. After a couple of rolls you might stand on all goodies while your opponent lands on traps or doesn’t roll a good dice for monster hunt etc... if that happens to you prepare to lose the match irrespective of what happens next. That happens 7/8 times out of 10 matches. I gave this game originally 4 stars but now 3. Predictability kills it a bit...

  • Loving the game but

It seems like the players that pay into the game have the rng gods on their side every time. They roll exactly everything they need to take you out in about 3 hits. The games are totally fixed. I can predict what the other person is going to roll, just because it goes against me. I played 10 games the other night and won 1. It’s a very frustrating game.

  • Addicting, Fun, Fair

Those 3 words explain it all. With the ability to reduce the amount of time it takes to open chests by watching advertisements, I can constantly play and open chests to stay just as strong as pay to win players. It all comes down to your strategy skills.
  • Not as fair as dice

I am strongly believe that the system behind the game will intentionally decide you to win/lose when you start the game. If the system decide you to lose, EVERY SINGLE DICE you throw will lead you to trap/prison/miss the hit to monster, no matter how small the probability it will be.
  • Good but seems unfair

I can’t seem to win anymore. Been playing for 2 days and now the luck of the dice has left. Game is graphics are outstanding, may have to stop playing because it’s no fun losing all the time.
  • It’s ok

I’ve put in close to 150 battles now and my win percent is just below 50% which I guess is about right for an rng game. The battles aren’t bad and you do have to put in a little bit of thinking on how to play your different dice but the game does feel biased to one player or the other. I’ve played too many rounds where it’s just a one sided domination and it’s not even fun even if I’m the one winning. The rng doesn’t feel legit and I’m at the point where if I start out bad I just surrender after the third round or so because there’s no catching up and you already know the other side is clearly gonna win. Might give this game another week but probably gonna delete it.
