!!! WARNING DO MOT BUY THIS APP !!!
I bought this app and then bought the premium version “gold” which you need to to be able to play the full game which is not cheap like $23 and it deleted my account and basically said that I needed to rebuy so to buy for a second time I spent at $23 just to play the game which is almost as much as the physical board game and I emailed CATAN customer Support weeks ago and I’ve emailed several times to follow up and they haven’t responded. There are hundreds of post similar to this all across the Internet talking about this app which is a scam do not buy it’ll be a complete waste of money. Freezing issues
What’s annoying is having to delete the app, and reload it because it keeps freezing. It’s awesome when it is working but the glitches are too frequent especially once you’ve spent money to purchase the games and then they don’t work.RaaH007
PLEASE FIX THE GAME URGENTLY
First of all this game is amazing and is a great representation of playing the physical board game. The major downside, is that recently maybe within the last month or two, the game is almost unplayable!!!! Now whether playing multiplayer or single player, often the game will hang and force you to close the app and re open it, but only to find that when the game reopens, it has a message at the top of the screen stating ‘find running game’ and no matter what happens you cannot get back into a game and are forced to delete the app, re download and start again. The process is unbelievably frustrating and having spent all the money for the expansions… you don’t want to have to deal with this on an app that’s cost you nearly ten pound.
Worst of all having had to delete the game I’ve lost all my purchases for the expansions… so even though I’ve paid and should have it all, I now have nothing with no way to restore purchases because of the coin purchases format for the expansions. Utterly disappointed.Show lessMusSalih
Purchased Gold not showing up
I love Catan and I love the app, but I’ve genuinely hit a wall here. I paid $27 for 3,000 Gold, (the in-game currency) and my Gold balance never changed. My intention since downloading the app in the first place was to get every game extension to play every scenario with no restrictions at any time. But after paying top dollar, I am still restricted to playing a lousy 1 game per 12 hours, and the only multi-player option available to me is the repetitive base game with no chat function. I reached out to the customer service email provided by the Catan Universe website. It’s been a whole week, and other than automated response emails, I haven’t heard back at all. My Gold balance remains at 0, and I cannot get the features I want from this app. At this point my review SHOULD be 1 star, plus a report for blatant theft. But I’ve enjoyed Catan Universe so far, and what it has provided me despite this. The Free-to-Play aspects are still perfectly fair. I have faith in the people, and assume that my email must have fallen through the cracks during the holidays/weekends. I’ve submitted another email for customer service. Please, CU Team, find a way to program that gold into my account, or allow me access to the extentions etc. I don’t WANT to be refunded, I just want to buy your game. Glitches make this game unenjoyable
My friend and I love playing this game however the glitches have made it unplayable. Every second game it will glitch out. Bots either continue to spam the same trade with their turn timer resetting each time or the game seems to rubberband, allowing you to make a turn but then kicking you out of the game to come back to where you were before your game.
Competitive play is compromised due to the glitching. I try to put up with the glitching until it resolves itself however it never does and I have to end up leaving, reducing my Elo.

Constant Disconnects Ruin Gameplay
I was excited to play Catan Universe on my Apple device, but the experience has been nothing short of frustrating. The game constantly disconnects, interrupting gameplay and causing immense frustration. It's incredibly disappointing to invest time and effort into a game only to be abruptly cut off due to technical issues. Until the connectivity problems are resolved, I cannot recommend Catan Universe to anyone looking for a reliable gaming experience.Show lessⓍⓎⓏ
Find Running Game Error

Game is Great! (when it works)
My friends and I have loved the board game Settlers of Catan for years and were thrilled to find a way to play it online with each other since we live far apart now. We have paid for the online expansion pack and when the game works, it works well and everyone enjoys it. However, recently we have been encountering more and more bugs that make the game unplayable. The worst bug occurs when playing with other people and the computer selections. After one of the computers prompts a trade, the game will freeze and not progress forward. All of the buttons are still interactive, but nothing will progress the game off of the computers turn. We also consistently struggle with the app not loading or launching a game and being stuck at the loading screen before sending us back to the home screen. We haven’t been able to play a few games with no issues in probably a month now. Very frustrating user experience for an otherwise great app.
Reduced to one star because the app is unplayable for the last two days. Try to start a match and it just says “Find running game…” and loads continuously. Will not let me load a game single player or multiplayer. Incredibly frustrating.Show lessRocko53
Normally great but doesn’t work since the last update
Since I started using this app at the beginning of this year I’ve had almost no problems with it. Every now and then the occasional bug will happen, like the game not registering which cards are offered/requested in a trade the first time you click them, but nothing that isn’t resolved with a little bit of patience.
Since the most recent update (roughly a week ago) the app has not been working whatsoever. Can’t connect to a multiplayer game 90% of the time because it tells me I’m offline (tried with various wifis and mobile data, same result each time). The few times I have managed to connect to a multiplayer game, it stops working almost immediately and just buffers.
Before the game would have deserved 5 stars but hoping 1 will get someone’s attention to undo whatever was in the last update so we can use the app again!Show lessCassie12356448247164368
Too many glitches
I really enjoy playing the game. I love it as a board game, we’ve played it in my family for over a decade. I was delighted to find out there’s an online version where I can play whenever I want even if nobody else is around.
However it is extremely frustrating that there are SO many glitches. The game often (nearly everytime I play) reloads and then resets to an earlier point in the game. This often leads to everyone leaving the game.
When someone leaves the game and is replaced with an AI these are not on a timer and will be proposing the same trades for a very long time, which often leads for everyone to leave the game too.
I would really appreciate if these bugs could be fixed.Show lessPav1989
