Ventspils SOS

This app can be used only if you are located in the city of Ventspils (Latvia). The app allows you to inform the local authorized government entities if there are some emergency cases in the city of Ventspils. If the User sees a broken park bench, an un-mown lawn or other cases for which the local municipality is responsible for, the User, by using the app, can send a message (text and photo) via the app, which will be forwarded to the authorized entity to solve the issue. In order for app to work, it will require an access for using the devices GPS and mobile data (if not connected to wi-fi). Information • The application is developed for reporting SOS events in the city of Ventspils; it does not work outside the city limits. • If the mobile device will not be connected to Wi-Fi, when sending SOS, mobile data will be used. • In case of an emergency, the User should call 112 immediately. • Along with Users SOS message, data processing specialist will receive GPS coordinates of SOS incident, that will be used to accurately pinpoint the location.
