  • Nothing that Habitica doesn't have

I've been using this for the past month thinking it was Habitica, and thought I was losing my mind because I remember Habitica having a lot of features and this having really nothing that gives it any purpose. Sometimes you level up, sometimes a monster will appear that will sit there doing nothing until it dies and doesn't alter the game in any way, and very rarely the game will give you another of the same piece of equipment that you already have five of. (At level 12 I have four of basically just wooden clubs, yet half of my equipment slots are empty).

I was being particularly careless when I downloaded it and thought nothing of it until I realized just how devoid of content the app was. But just in case it's not just me: If you're looking for that To-do list rpg you can't quite remember the name of, it's Habitica, not this one.

  • Great idea, but buggy & without updates

Update: upon reaching level 60, the weekly and monthly goals no longer reset in any predictable way, and there’s no way to trigger a reset manually. There haven’t been updates in over a year. Looks and feels like a good idea that got abandoned before it could turn into something great.

    First review:

5 stars because what you get FOR FREE without ads is outstanding! A solid task tracker with simple gamification. I haven’t encountered a single bug in over a month of frequent daily use. It’s changed my workflow for the better and I love the monster names and animations.

However, $5 per month for Elite is too much without a major update. I think it’s impacting the growth and popularity of this otherwise great app. You get some minor utility functions at the Elite level, but no change to the gamification/content.

A few possible ways to address this:
    * drop down elite level to something more standard for this level of content/utility, $1.99 or $2.99/month, tops. New users will be reluctant to pay more than that for something that hasn’t been updated for a year...
    * put up banner ads that disappear with Elite level. We want the dev to keep improving the app, so we either pay a little, or we see some ads.
    * Long term, put Elite gamification function behind the paywall (on top of the productivity functions): character creation, gear that changes your appearance, better rewards, quests? etc. That’ll make the membership even more enticing.

Good luck, Harrison, and thank you for making Bounty Tasker! Drop down the Elite price and I vow to sign up for a year to help keep you going. I bet I won’t be the only one :)

  • Gender Binary

Made me choose Male or Female right at the start—I’d rather just skip if those are gonna be the choices, but ofc that’s not an option. Bit of a turn-off right from the start but I’ll see if anything’s worth upping the rating going forward. Really hope that’s changed eventually though.
  • Really hoped for the best...

The main reason I signed up for the monthly service was for the reminders. Sadly, I wasn’t notified. Another issue is there’s no way to list an event/habit/to-do two or three times a week unless you enter each day as a weekly thing. I did all of that and the reminder failed. 😑 I’m deleting the app, canceling the monthly service. That was $5 (ish) wasted along with my time.

  • Almost Perfect

This is a wonderful idea for task management. It engages you to complete your tasks. It has daily, weekly, and monthly sections as well as a section for items that don’t repeat. For me the only downfall for this app is that the elite function is through a monthly or yearly subscription. If the elite function were a one time purchase then I would have given the app a 5 star rating.

  • Levels drop for no reason

So as a list app it works fine but my level drops every so often. I got myself up to level 50; and then the next day it dumped me back to level 25, and now I get to 25 and it just dumps me back to 2. I don’t know why it does this especially since I’m doing my tasks so be warned: if that’s your primary motivator it will be frustrating

  • Nice concept

A great way for gamers to organize their tasks.
  • looks promising

i love the art style and simplicity.
  • Pretty and Subpar

Some of the best graphics in the productivity RPG subgenre. Inefficient UI; e.g., creating new tasks from within “daily” view, user is still prompted to select from daily, weekly, or monthly task. Glitchy. Dragging items to reorder outside the immediate display area causes items to spastically flicker in and out of position. Character currently shows 19/16 XP with progress bar overflowing out of frame. Uncertain whether leveling up will be possible after this. Rebooting app does not help. Functions that should be considered basic for a productivity app (e.g., reminders) are kept behind a relatively expensive “Elite” paywall.

  • Awesome app idea

This app is awesome, but you should continue improving this app, I feel like this app could get really good and help tons of people.
