Avoid
Would give 0 stars if possible. Game is completely rigged to make you spend money if you want to be competitive at all. This is not a sour grapes review. I have played for a long time and the same people win all the time. You can have fun building cities, but the competitions require you to spend money to win. People who say different are either cheating or lying to sound like they aren't fools for pouring money into a game with no tangible return.

It was better with Middle Earth.
I had more fun when it was themed around Middle Earth. Now I came back to see what happened since then. I don’t have any reference to the characters.

I have been playing this game for eight years now. Our alliance is full and active with folks I have known for many years. The focus is on tournaments , which suites me perfectly. In the old days, people talked on chat because they did not know each other. Now we are a family and so talk is more suited towards messaging . It’s all still fun.

Better than ever, but still...
Very few mobile games in this genre can keep me invested in them. And for a game which mostly consists of an areal view of a city and the occasional marching sound, it’s quite immersive.
My only issue is that, ever since the hobbit switch, certain images of units/characters do not match what they are.
And because of how amazing the visuals are for the units, nothing really seems out of place, until you notice one of them and then you start to question many image choices. Like how there are two images for Boiling Lead, but one of them is being used for Defensive Trebuchet.
I’m an artist myself, so I know what it’s like to have created something that winds up not being used. But, I’d also be a little confused if everyone referred to my drawing of a wolf as a boar.

It took time but they got it right when dealing with my issue
I’ve been playing this game for over 6 years and whilst it does have issues I think there has recently been a marked improvement with the customer service and game development. Keep it up
GAEA is a horrible company.
I have played this game for 6 years I stopped for about 1-1/2years and started playing again. I had almost everything max I had spent well over $1000 over the years and had a big inventory. Long story short my account got lost in world 107 and Gaea game team somehow couldn’t restore my city. After talking to them for about 2 weeks through Email. The Gaea team was short, not helpful, and could care less about helping someone fix what they had messed up. I payed for a product from Kabam who was taken over by Gaea and now Gaea wont give me back or give me equivalent value on that product. How can that be Right or even Legal.

Little more then an online casino disguised as a game
Under Kabam this was a great game of rpg and gvg. Now it’s filled with players using all kinds of third party software to automate their game play and harass other players. The amount of accounts some players have is absolutely ridiculous. But the worst part is the constant glitches during pay events. Even if you do pay money more times then not there is a glitch that puts you at a disadvantage. You can spend all the money in the world but with third party software and constant game issues you might as well throw your money in the fireplace. Whether the glitch is Gaeas fault or not they will never reimburse you or fix the glitch in a timely manner. They are very big on blaming Apple for all the issues . I continue to play kabam games but I’m letting this one go. We have a player in our world that has an alliance filled with his alts and does nothing to hide that he uses third party software to automate his game play. They do nothing. About him because he is friendly with game employees in discord. Too bad it’s come to this. I was playing from day one and I’m the last to leave of the 100 players I started with.

Horrible, horrible game
I have been a player of this game for 5 years. This game has always had significant issues but over the past two years the problems have become so significant that no one should ever download this game. Trust me, do NOT click download of this game. To name a few(of countless) issues: Repetitive game play(nothing new in years), incompetent customer service, countless game errors(they like to minimize them and call them glitches), arrogant in-game helpers called the Fellowship(a nightmare) and now the latest is their game does not work with the new IOS update. The company is so arrogant that they say it’s Apples fault their game doesn’t work. LOL. Run very, very fast from this game and choose any one of the dozens of better alternatives.

Fix
I stopped playing this game a few weeks after gaea took over with hopes the game would get better, but didn’t. A coupe years later I figured I’d give it another shot, well it’s even worst than when I left. I have tower keys that are in my inventory that I cannot use, a lot of ya who play thus game save so we can win the events, well how can we win if our inventory isn’t acceptable?.. what’s the point of having them if you cant use them. The competitions are all the same. I had high hopes that things would be better. Shame on me. Hopefully something changes before there everyone completely stops.

Access to units
When this game was called the hobbit and owned by a different organization we knew the clear requirements to get units. This game after a year still doesn’t allow us to build/train elite units. On top of that they made the campaigns harder and nearly impossible to get some items...this is what happens when a business tries to squeeze every dollar out of its players. They aren’t trying to accommodate us
