  • Awesome and super useful

At first I was confused, one page? Now it all makes sense. So good. Scratch pad on the phone. A napkin you’ll never lose. Highly recommend. Well done app.
  • iCloud Support

iCloud support would make it perfect. Would love to be able to save on one device and see on another.
  • Almost perfect

    Beautiful. Simple. Elegant. Perfect… almost.

The only thing it needs, in my opinion, is iCloud sync. I want to type something in my iPad and access it on my iPhone and vice versa. I don’t think that would compromise the concept and or pollute the nature of the experience.

No need to clutter up the interface with a Settings button, etc. The syncing for the app could hidden away and enabled or disabled in the main iOS Settings App where the majority of my other App setting are.

I feel bad for not giving it 5 Stars, but syncing would be true perfection for me.

  • Goodbye Drafts and Hello Edit

I have been using drafts version 3&4 to type out ideas and random bits of information I wanted to keep. It was quick and easy to use. Drafts 5 as you may be aware changed their pricing to a subscription model. Unfortunately for my use and I guess a lot of iOS users this was an over kill.

There are a few things about Edit I like already
    1. Dark mode (you don’t need to pay a monthly fee like Drafts 🤔).
    2. Icon to copy the text you have typed (useful if you have been typing enough text where you cannot see the start).
    3. Word count as you type.
    4. Super simple design.
    5. The app is quick to load and type on iPhone X.
    6. No annoying subscription to be concerned about.

Thank you Dreger for creating a simple, quick to type app on the iOS platform. The guarantee from the developer to keep the app working for years to come is something other developers should take note of and is to be applauded.

While I am aware Drafts 5 and Edit are apps with different features, for my use this is better than Drafts. For some this may well be too basic. For $2 and a 10 year guarantee, I think it’s a no brainer. I strongly believe the app is something Steve Jobs would have approved of. Download and enjoy.

Suggestion to the developer Dreger - kindly consider a similar app on the Mac platform if and when possible.

  • Simple and Elegant

This app does one thing and does it well. It allows for writing totally devoid of distractions and to see how many words you produce. I only wish you could select a larger font size for easier viewing. Highly recommended for focused writing!
  • Simple and straightforward

Love the simplicity of the app! No need to worry about setting up scripts and actions in order to share quick notes.

Only request would be to add a widget to access the app quicker.
  • Nice

Does just what it says. Works in split screen too. Great privacy policy.
  • It’s really that Simple

What if the app you were using just did one thing? It would be simple. It would be useful. And there would be little else to say.

How lovely it is to cynically stare down a marketing page—tutting at the suckers who’d buy a single persistent screen for text—only to click “buy” on a whim and find yourself delighted by the result.

You’re wrong, cynical self. Or you’re right and I just don’t care.

iOS 12 and Siri shortcuts will be a wonderful addition to what Edit already does: capture text quickly so you can send it elsewhere to become the million things that text becomes.

Here’s to simple, delightful software, and the joy of just doing the thing you meant to do. Like this review, for example. 🙂

  • It Just Works

I have a terrible memory. Tell me to write something down and I have about 30 seconds to do so before it’s gone forever. Edit fixes that for me because it does what it says on the tin: lightning fast text editing. Unlock Phone >> Edit Icon >> Type. There’s _zero_ waiting.

That being said, if I want to make a list or take more time to draft an email I can do that too. And if I need to put it down for a minute to do something else I know what I’ve written is right there waiting for me.

If you’re skeptical about paying for such a simple app, remember, simple things are often the most useful. A chef’s knife is simple but you’ll pay for one made with craftsmanship because it’ll last you a lifetime. It’s the same thing with Edit. Just a solid app, made with craftsmanship.

  • Futuristically Simple

In the coming era of Shortcuts, what more of an interface to text could you want than this? A single screen to get it all down, and a share button to do whatever you want with it in other apps. It's delightful.
