Sketchy, 1 reply per day customer service, cant find a wire deposit from employer
I have been at these guys for 5-6 weeks about an employer allotment. I had setup Tellus with a small bi weekly allotment to my account with financial institution they had on file in their app for use (they no longer have it up, they took it down… shocker…) I had conducted a total of 2 allotments before I canceled them because they dont have the ability to track these although they made it available for use with their financial institution which is SUNTRUST BANK. They were able to “find” and return my first allotment but its been 4-5 weeks and they havent found my last allotment before canceling it. Mind you I have chatted with them with all the information and supporting documentation they need to find this. They reply via support chat once a day (mid to late afternoons and even night). I will be leaving a review under the BBB (they arent registered or accredited under BBB but they do have a file under there) and the FTC. *BE CAREFUL… something isnt right about this* I am awaiting my last allotment to be returned to close my account completely.Show lessGreat rates, not so great customer service
You’d be hard-pressed to find a better APY than what Tellus offers. And it’s worth noting that this is more like an investment than a savings account, hence the lack of any FDIC backing of deposits. But so far it seems a rather safe way to put money aside and watch it grow much faster than it can at any bank. Where Tellus falls short, though, is their customer service.
First off, it’s only available during the week, not on weekends, and begins at 9am PT, so the east coast has been going for 3-4 hours before Tellus wakes up, and even then response rates are fairly slow (I waited 7 1/2 hours for a reply to my latest message). Secondly, they’ve chosen a most inconvenient and nonsensical process to fund a Tellus account.
You can only choose one bank, which isn’t necessarily uncommon but definitely limiting. However, the real kicker is that once you choose a bank account you can’t change it. As customer service said to me, “We are unable to remove or change your linked bank account at the moment. You must first withdraw your total funds to the current linked bank account before we can move forward with any changes.”
What!? I have to withdraw all my money first?? This makes absolutely no sense. If E*Trade, PayPal, Venmo, Stripe, all my credit cards, and a host of other financial companies allow for easy online ways to change or remove bank accounts, I’m unclear why Tellus refuses such a simple service.Show lessTellus is hands-down, the most worst app
don’t go here. Don’t try to put money in here because they’ll act like they’re pulling it for three days and then they’ll come back and say your bank declined the transaction when I go back to my bank my transaction history doesn’t have no acknowledgment of what I’m talking about. They said we didn’t decline anything because they never tried their third-party people just cancel it they don’t even try to invest the money it’s a joke and then when you tell them about it, they reset it twice but they don’t fix the problem now when I try to buy it says we need more verification so then I go through the verification part and says there’s already an app with this information no really because I put the app there I’m trying to invest money don’t come here.
