  • Where are saved files?

Great app but saved files do not show when recalled.
    Disappointing:(

    Developer Response

Glad you like the app. When you've saved a file, it can be viewed again by browsing to the collection containing the text in "Choose & Peruse". Beside every text that has at least one saved version there will be a quill and ink well icon. Browse to those texts and tap "View Saved" at the top the screen. All the saved copies can then be viewed by tapping the date on which it was saved. I hope that helps you find your saved texts. I'll have to look into making it more straightforward to view them.
  • Addictive and Educational

Love this game! English majors, beware. You too may sometimes be stumped!

Thanks so much for taking the time to share your love of WordWhile. It means so much to The WordWhile Editorial Team, aka me. Best regards, Greg
  • Literate laughs and new challenges!

The “Valentine’s Day” update of this already-fun text-mangling game actually brings a lot more than just some new love-themed poetry and prose, although of course that’s included too.

The basic gameplay remains the same as in the enjoyable debut version, but new game modes have been added, and the instructions and configuration menus have been clarified and enhanced, making for a great overall experience.

Highly recommended for anyone who loves a little bit of wordplay!

P.S. What about some gothic and horror classics for Hallowe’en? Maybe a bit of “Frankenstein”, “Jekell and Hyde”, “Jane Eyre”, or “Mysteries of Udolpho”?

Thanks so much for your wonderful review. I'm really happy you like the improvements and your Hallowe'en update suggestions are excellent: those works by Shelley, Stevenson, Eyre and Radcliff are all in the public domain. I'd add some Poe and the witches scene from Macbeth ("Double, double toil and trouble, Fire burn, and cauldron bubble."). All the best, Greg
  • Love this app

I really like this app; it’s fun and you learn some new texts. I suggest f. Scott Fitzgerald and maybe some world literature ??

    Developer Response

Thank-you for the suggestions! The Valentine's Day update will have a selection of quotes from "Tender is the Night" (Fitzgerald) and some "Les Misérables" (Hugo) in translation.
  • A Pleasant and Relaxing Game

I just downloaded the game and played it for the first time, and after a bit of a slow start, I found it to be very pleasant and stimulating. The slow start was probably necessary to bring the new player up to speed, and all things considered, it worked well enough and was fine. I love Shakespeare and interacting with his work was as enjoyable as I'd imagined it would be. To the developer of this game I would like to say thank you. I know how much resistance pops up in response to creative ideas that are coupled with real and meaningful areas of understanding and intellectual works that are worth learning and knowing. You have accomplished a rare and wonderful thing. RP Wilson

I can't thank you enough for taking the time to share these words of encouragement and support. Your particular fondness for Shakespeare has been noted! The Valentine's Day update will include Hamlet's love letter to Ophelia (and seven other love-themed texts). I've streamlined the Tutorial and made custom profiles optional to help players get off to a faster start. Thanks again for the feedback.
  • What a piece of work is [an app]! How noble in [the bath] ...

What a fun, clever premise! Whisk your way through classic texts, picking words to complete phrases. There are several entertaining game modes, and challenges to be undertaken: Think you know your Shakespeare cold? Well, try getting every word right (or wrong!) as you race through a sonnet with the clock ticking. There's plenty of sly humour built into the alternative answers, too. Great for little bursts of literary fun.

  • Educational

This app is very educational and helpful for learning older writings. I enjoy this a lot.
  • Relaxing and fun

A nice way to pass time, or to challenge yourself. The "novelty" options can also be fairly funny. In short, I enjoy it

Thanks for taking the time to write this. I really appreciate the encouragement. You can look forward to an update before the end of the month (August 2017) with some "Children's Classics". Hope you enjoy it.
