Waste of money
It doesn’t support background running and only last 30 seconds if you leave the app or lock the phone, so you can’t do anything other than just literally “connect” to a ssh server. completely useless.BillyTV

Hello, It’s just not possible to maintain a background activity for such kind of apps. But you have the options: - Use the app with Split View on iPad - Use an in-app browser (click globe button on the active connection page) to keep the app running in the foreground on iPhone (available since 2.0.1) - You can use multiple iOS devices, setup Port Forwarding proxy on one and use it on another / Thanks, YuryApp does exactly what I need
The bad thing about it is we have gone from the annoying message to enable location services to now being prompted EVERYTIME I close the app whether I like it or not. After answering yes multiple times and still being prompted I now say NO because this is very annoying.dybdivrh
Does not work in background- pretty much useless
Is a nice app. If it worked in the background it would be a great app. Apple needs to support things like this (at least on ipad) I’m sure the dev has put a lot of time and money into making this. I wish I could say it worked. Not operating in the background though totally breaks most workflows. In app browser is bad, and even if it was good would still be very suboptimal. We have reached a sad state of affairs! I developed web services in blink shell, but now without this app working in the background that workflow is wrecked. RIP ipad pro 2018.Show lessWhitwhacker

Hello, Fortunately, this absolutely not a problem since you use the iPad. On iPad you can use the app with a Split View. (You should reinstall the app to make Split View works correctly). Thanks, YuryCannot running in background

First of all, the app does it job, functionally it works, we can do ssh tunneling with it.
However, when we are doing tunneling, we will almost for sure do something else in some other apps, so this will require the app to be able to running in the background and keep the tunnel open. Unfortunately, after a few minutes, the tunnel will be not responding, and I have to go back to the SSH Tunneling app to make the nun else responsive.
If this bug is fixed, then the app would be extremely useful. And I really hope it can be fixed.

Hello Josh! UPD: This all now supports Split View on iPad. Yes, you are absolutely right. The app stopped working after iOS 13 release. On Sep 13th I’ve been published an update to the App Store but it never been approved (because of background permissions). I have no idea how to appeal that at this point. 2 days ago I’ve submitted iPad only SSH Tunnel app to AppStore, it uses a split view to preventing app suspending. I hope it will be reviewed soon and iPad users will be able to use the new app on iPad. / Thanks, YuryRevised review
Thanks to the developer for the interest in replying. The reason for the changes in the upgrade make much more sense now. This is truly one of my all time favorite apps and I’ve revised my rating to reflect that.

Hi, Before 2019 the app uses background audio mode to run in the background. I've tried many times, but unfortunately, from 2018 I was not able to pass the App Store app review with background audio mode. So, in 2019 the only way to run the app in the background is from is background geolocation. The information about your location stored on your device only, newer shared or exposed from your device. I know, this "extra feature", but App Store background mode usage rules are pretty strict.Good app!
Overall, this app has what I need, however, I feel like something happened with the app recently where performance is real slow. Also, I noticed it keeps bugging me about location when the previous version never asked for it (not sure why it’s needed).zivagolee

I have wanted to stream video for a long time, from a webcam at home so I can keep an eye on my 3D printer. I don't like the cloud-based webcam options, but instead, preferred to stream directly over an SSH connection. Problem was, I couldn't find an SSH tunnel app. Until now, that is. SSH Tunnel does exactly what I wanted, with no frills, but with all of the options I need. And it works very well. Only one suggestion for future enhancement... it would be very useful if one could forward more than just a single port within a single tunnel - at the moment, I think only one is possible. Hard to believe what’s possible on iOS these days
Great utility that works exactly as it promises. No frills, just an iOS version of what you’d be handling on the command line elsewhere. Plenty of ways to improve (UI, prompts, warnings) but a very stable app first and foremost. So I am happy to keep using while (if) the developer decides to put those features in.Show lessskiiver
Why force us to use location services?
Got it. I just don't want location records being propagated, transmitted and sold... I may have to stop using the app, even if I like it very much.
Good app. Works very well. Last update forces you to enable location services for it to work in the background. Why? It used to background perfectly well without this before the update. Should be an option, no?Show lesskjhgboiup

Hi again! I just want to let you know that the location data are stored on the device only. Newer transmitted to anywhere. Don't worry about it :-) Hi, The app was used audio background mode previously (the app was playing an endless sound to stay in the background). Now I switched to background geolocation. It helps improve battery life. Also, it fixes the issue with Bluetooth keyboards.Does what it says
