  • Typically good

As usual, Haiku escape games are a cut above the rest. There are some really annoying and seemingly unnecessarily difficult puzzles but in the whole very enjoyable.
Not the very best one of this series but not the worst either. Unlike many others if this genre, there is a reasonable backstory to keep your interest. Keep them coming Haiku!

  • Great

    Challenging and fun
  • Best escape games out there

Well done Haiku Games, another super challenging puzzle game, and free! Wonderful entertainment with enough story to interest, but not so much that it’s boring.
  • Great atmosphere! Unique puzzles! But...

So glad I found Haiku games! Most are great, but this one seems like someone’s trying to hard. The puzzles don’t always make sense, and solutions can be quite a reach. I also don’t like all the shooting, moving things by fast tapping, and grabbing the key with tweezers is very glitchy. Impossible. Hard puzzles are great, but these are just ridiculous and frustrating

  • Good game

Thanks for such a great games!!
  • Great game, except...

This was a great little game until I got to the knotted rope. This could have been designed a bit better. My finger and size of my screen (iPhone 6S) and puzzle mechanics are very frustrating. It is too unforgiving: think tracing a complicated maze with your finger on an iPhone, but if your finger touches any maze wall your progress is lost and you start over. Now imagine you cannot see the maze walls as you go through them because they’re covered up by your finger. It’s a shame because it’s a great puzzle idea; it’s just to unforgiving if your finger tip is more that 5mm wide and you don’t have x-ray vision.
I really wanted to finish the story, too because it wad at 5 stars until that point. So, save all your hint stars to skip it when you reach it. I should have done that.

  • Another fabulous game from Haiku!

I think Haiku is the only developer to whom I've said this: You really should charge for your games! The quality is absolutely outstanding. Challenging, innovative puzzles, robust storyline, terrifying graphics, great soundtrack, and seamless, glitchfree play, time after time. (Well, there were a couple buggy games last Christmas, but you fixed them.)

You may be relying on people to buy stars, but unfortunately many probably rely on walkthroughs. If you charge $1.99, the vast majority of people will pay it. I would! And if they don't, you are only losing a free customer, so no loss to the books. Honestly, you are so much better than your competition, it's ridiculous. My Apple Pay is ready to go. :-D

Note to other reviewers (one in particular): Don't punish the developer (and possibly your fellow gamers) by taking off stars because you think the puzzles are hard! That doesn't make the game flawed, it only means that YOU need practice in critical thinking! :-Q

  • Great story, great puzzles, great fun!

The last effort by Haiku was not like their other games, it was the 1st & only game I deleted before finishing-the puzzles were so bizarre & the solutions were out of left field. Allied Spies returns us to the Haiku genre we all know & love. Good puzzles-some requiring thought, some dexterity but all doable & enjoyable. This time there was choice based dialogue which was fun & different for a change. The story is based off WWII and 2 Allied spies working with the French Resistance-I like that a little history made its way into the game. All in all a great game!!
Revision-changed my rating! That’ll teach me to write a review before I’m
totally done with the game. The game simply freezes after the nazi hand to hand combat puzzle, I completed it, choosing all the right moves & then it just froze. Can’t move forward, can’t move back. It ain’t good enough to start from
scratch so I guess I just delete before I get to finish the game & we all know how much we luv THAT!

  • Fast paced & fun

A lot of fun. Great story, and fun puzzles.
  • All the haiku games are great for the price

The only quibble is that they spend so much time fleshing out the characters and storyline but there are often puzzles that don’t make sense. For example: lock combinations that are set to the current speed a boat is going or the number of birds on a telephone wire, or placing wine glasses in a certain way opens a trapdoor, etc. if they took a little more time to integrate the puzzles into the environment it would really add to the atmosphere
