  • Frustrating-Dan Snyder of news apps

Too many ads on the screen especially of the type that expand or play animations. One has to scroll past the ads or close them in order to read the articles. Also the text is constantly shifting as ads load within the page pushing text up and down.
Personally I also believe this causes the app to freeze or crash more often than other news apps I use (NY Post, WSJ, USA Today, Rush Limbaugh, National Review).
While there are many great writers at the Times (I live for Pruden’s columns) the app makes it painful to regularly use. A redesign and better ad integration would go a long way to resolving a lot of these issues.

  • Terribly annoying to read from app

Due to ads, while reading an article the page will randomly jump / scroll up or down. The reader must continually find where ones reading left off. It takes 2 times or longer to read an article thanks to this glitch. Is there a way to still have ads but not have this issue? I get that the app is free but this is incredibly annoying and a deterrent from me even wanting to use the app at all. Thanks for your consideration.

  • Great app but latest update broke it oniPadPro

This is one of my favorite news sites, but the latest update this week broke it on my 10.5” iPadPro. The red startup screen appears, but nothing else ever does. The new version still runs fine on my iPhoneX, as does the Web site on myiMac.
  • Ads

In terms of content, it is hard to beat the Washington Times. I love getting their take, when I have the patience to fight the ads. The latest version of the app really messed up how you view content. Each time you scroll down, to reach the next potion of an article, you’re hit with a new ad. The ad expands (or contracts) depending on how they try to fool you into reading it. One is constantly re-reading or skipping paragraphs an an effort to find where he/she left off before getting the add.
ITS INFURIATING!! Stick to the desktop version, the iOS app is absolutely terrible.

  • Maddening scrolling

I wanted to like this app but the scrolling and the ads that appear and disappear will have you flicking up and down reading and rereading the same sections and losing your place. The same for the side scrolling on the push notifications. Click on a read and you likely be taken to a different story than the one you clicked on. I’ve come so close to deleting this app several times for these reasons. Good reporting, bad application software.

  • Aggressive and annoying ad implementation

The ads at Washington times app and mobile site are too aggressive and the way they are implemented is obnoxious and intrusive, fighting for attention and competing with the articles as you scroll through an article. I don’t mind ads. I just don’t like for ads to compete with the content. I know they have to make money but it shouldn’t come at such a great expense to the users experience. This was just too annoying for me. Deleted.

  • Critical consumer

It is a delight to find a news source that presents news in a balanced way. I have grown disgusted with entities like the NYT or the LA Times. They are both predictably hostile and disapproving of every aspect of the Trump administration, including the many significant accomplishments to date. Just like millions of my fellow Americans, I want to see America prosper and strengthen. I would like American media to be fair enough to note when that happens even when that is achieved by those it opposes. ——Mike

  • Never Ending Quality

No other newspaper, save maybe the WALL STRRET JOURNAL, offers such quality, insight, thought-provoking and exceptional writing in its Opinion section as the WASHINGTON TIMRS. You will, as I do, share these quality conservative columns (with equally outstanding graphics) on social media and with friends just about every day! It’s my favorite phone APP.

  • Evasive Adds

You can’t get through an article with out an add popping up. Nicely written articles. When the add pops up it is nearly impossible to click off. Adds also block you searching for other articles. Not worth the trouble sometimes. You need hands the size of an elf to click the adds away
