** ADVANCED CONTROLS ** (Subscribers only) A much-requested feature has arrived. The standard control for rehearsing lets you start out when you're barely familiar with your lines, move into full memorization, then into speed-throughs to lock everything into place. If you'd like to rehearse in a configuration that's not on the standard control, subscribers can now turn on Advanced Controls, which let you tweak rehearsal speed and how your lines are practiced with independent controls. Give it a try! -- FIXED: The playback controls were sometimes placed a little oddly if you held your phone in landscape orientation. -- FIXED: A couple of bugs that could cause the app to crash when deleting recordings or folders. -- FIXED: A very rare bug that could potentially cause the app to use a lot of memory and eventually crash. -- Backstage updates Note: This is the last update that will be compatible with iOS 12. You can continue using this version on iOS 12 as long as you'd like, but future updates to Run Lines With Me will require a minimum of iOS 13.

  • Don’t be fooled, not free

Everything in the App Store info seems to indicate this is a free app. I got halfway into to recording my lines for the show I’m currently in and it prompted me with a message that I only had two more free recordings (I.e., scenes) and then I would have to buy a subscription, which felt deceptive and was enormously frustrating after the work and time I had put into recording my scenes up to that point.

I’m not a pro with a business budget for this kind of thing. I do community theater once or twice a year. There should be a free version supported by ads or something as an option for amateur actors.

Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry you were surprised by the prompt about a subscription; I'm certainly not trying to fool anyone. The intention is that anyone should be able to download the app for free and make up to 10 recordings, which in many cases is enough for a full project (depending on length, the size of your part, etc.). With that start, each person can decide if they find the app helpful and if it's worth considering a subscription. The price is kept low, precisely to keep the app accessible to actors of all levels, from professional, to amateur, to student. If you feel that you haven't had a chance to evaluate the app yet and determine if it's worth the price of a subscription, please reach out by email (email@runlineswithme.com) and I'd be happy to work with you. Cheers!
  • Great app for live memorisation!

This app has everything you would need as an actor. It has great options, the fact that you can play recordings of your lines and queues, meant I could literally be rehearsing wherever I go. I could do it on the train, on the bus, anywhere!

If you struggle with line memorisation that I recommend that you check this out!

  • Easy to use, really helpful

Loving how easy to use this is- just record yourself reading your script (or the whole cast at a read through if possible!) remembering to press and hold the big button when you speak your own part. Various different ways of playback then help to remind and test you. And it works when I’m in the car too, plays thro my speakers. Ability to reorder your recordings or put them in files makes playback easier. 10 free recordings of up to 15 mins each mean you can probably use the free version for at least one full play, if you are careful with your recording! I have happily subscribed as I’m going to find this very helpful for more than one play.
