  • Missing Together's features

I'm on the fence for this as a replacement for the developer's previous app, Together. I used separate libraries to keep my focus on certain topics or tasks, yet KeepIt now consolidates all libraries into one. So I'm not so keen on that "improvement".

I also used Together on the Mac to copy some important emails in a library. The Mac version of KeepIt still displays those .eml files, but now the iOS version of KeepIt does not. Together displayed all the mail messages properly on all platforms.

The subscription model for the iOS version if OK, it won't break my wallet.

But I'm still contemplating staying with Together rather than KeepIt as long as Together keeps running. Stay tuned.

  • Disappointed

My initial reaction was disappointment in this being subscription based. I saw the Mac version as a great alternative to Evernote for many reasons, one of them being that it was a way to get off the treadmill of annual subs, to just own a copy to Keep it. I understand that app designers need an income, but this is still disappointing. Anyway, open mind, I'll give it a try.

    Developer Response

Thanks for giving the app a try. Unfortunately, Together barely made back a third of its development costs, so Keep It is using low cost subscriptions to try and make the app sustainable in the least painful way.
  • So far so good

with just one single file this Is not going to work as my "one bucket" for "everything" but after a few days use of this and the desktop app I'm finding it very promising as a repository for all my go to medical notes and references. (a personal holy grail I've been up the hill and back again quite a few times over the years)

Attractive and simple interface seamless synching and no crashes yet (I've got about 4GB / 3000 items in it so far) All my other archive stuff can stay in multiple DEVONthink databases for now but for my use case above this is working very nicely thank you.

Sure there are some features I might like added but the simplicity/functionality/interface/complexity trade off is working very well

  • Beware!

The developer's previous app has been abandoned, stranding my data. The only fix is spending hours of time exporting/importing (I have about five thousand documents and notes) or buying a new computer. This is irresponsible. Several years from now, the developer may well do the same thing again.

    Developer Response

Keep It for Mac can import Together libraries, but it wasn't possible to offer the same functionality on iPad or iPhone, sorry.
