This update features another round of cleanups and performance improvements. There will be a few over the near future to help Gladys get into shape for new tech and features. This update features compatibility improvements for iOS 16.1 and wew app intents which correspond to the same actions that are available via x-callback-url, making automation hopefully simpler.

Workflow improvements • You can now select between 2 label display modes; the classic view, and a grouping mode where items are grouped by their labels (or lack thereof). Each section can be collapsed or expanded, and each section can show all the items as a grid, or a scrolling carousel instead. Dragging an existing item between label sections re-assigns the related label. Dragging a new item into a specific label area assigns that label. On iPad, drag a section header to the side to open a new Gladys window with that label. • Menus in the edit mode’s toolbar are now rendered using native iOS menus instead of action-sheets. • New “Recent items” label that automatically filters items added in the last 24h. • Labels for items can now be removed using swipe-to-delete again, although the menu option remains. • Action extension “notes & label” workflow streamlined, so that if you have this option enabled you don’t have to manually open that view, and you can chose the labels and enter notes while the item is being imported. iOS 15 specific feature support • Improved keyboard navigation with support for native focus, selection, and tabbing in both the main view and the various dialogs, as well as space-to-quicklook. This replaces the custom keyboard hacks to support scrolling and paging in iOS 14 and earlier. • Pinch-to-preview, using the new prominent centre window presentation, which can be minimised, closed, or docked to the side as required. • Less cluttered item info windows. Code optimisations, and built with the iOS 15 SDK toolchain for performance improvements and latest iOS device support.

Description of Gladys

Gladys is a drag-and-drop shelf that holds things you want to set aside, such as links, text snippets, map locations, contacts, images, photos, emails, messages and much more (even if the application that the information came from is removed) It works with any app that supports drag-and-drop, and helps keep you focused by letting you quickly set something aside, without having to consider where it needs to be dropped, or having to constantly switch between apps. • Works with any app that supports drag-and-drop, but also provides an extension for apps that don't yet support it, as well as the ability to paste items to & from the clipboard. • Quickly search for items inside the app or via Spotlight. Access your top items from the home screen / Today widget, your Apple Watch, and even iMessage. • Annotate items with notes, custom titles, and tag items with labels that allow you to easily categorise, browse, and sort your collection. • Take your collection with you on your iPhone, and keep it updated by turning on automatic iCloud syncing. • Invite friends to keep items from your own collection in their own collections, and, if you give permission, even collaboratively annotate and edit them. • Import/export/merge collection archives simply by dragging. • Ideal for bookmarking between apps: For example you can quickly return to dropped email items by selecting 'Open' in their info view, quickly share links between different browsers, or use Siri shortcuts to copy often-used items to and from your clipboard. • Experienced users can get details on dropped items and extract or modify specific data components (e.g. extract the URL of an image link, instead of the whole item, add a new image, or edit the title). • Technical users can inspect binary data using the in-built hex viewer, download items pointed to by web links, and even archive web pages. • Contains no analytics, ratings prompts, or noise.

Reviews of Gladys

  • So darn handy

The more devices you have, the more indispensable this app becomes. I love it.
  • Security zbug

Pinching out on a locked item will show that item rather than presenting a password prompt.
  • Copying an item freezes the app

App is crashing on 16.0.2. Whenever you select and hold a copied item in the app clipboard a context menu pops up. When you select "copy" the app freezes on the context menu. Causes iOS to freeze for a few seconds

    —update 12/20/22
The app functionality is back to normal again. I’m giving it 5 stars again. This app is so useful
