I met my wife on here

As the title says, I met my wife on this app. Beforehand I tried all those other apps to try and find somebody. None of them worked out or you had to pay to get anywhere with it. I wanted to find someone whose beliefs aligned with mine and who I knew would accept me right away for how I identify. So I turned to taimi. The app when I used it was laid out great. Easy to match and chat with someone, detailed enough options for preference and bios. The photo layout confused me and the thing adding a post as well but nevertheless I liked it a lot. Granted there are a few creeps and such but that’s with any app. Most people never responded or I didn’t vibe with. I met two other people on here but those didn’t work. Then I met my wife. We clicked so quickly and the app worked great to allow us to chat initially. The rest is history. I still download the app to look at our old chat log and I love having a visual of when we first matched. Without this app we would’ve never met, so to the developers thank you.

Is this just Grinder but for everyone?

I swear, I’ve only been on it one day and it just seems like a hookup app. Most people seem to be looking for hookups. Profiles rarely have anything on them, except one “normal” picture and one weirdly sexual picture. Then again, that’s pretty normal for dating apps, sadly.

What gets me is, I’ve only been on 1 day. I didn’t realizes likes AND dislikes are both limited. I only disliked and straight up blocked some really weird profiles, because I didn’t see anyone interesting. Then I finally happened upon someone interesting… well, I couldn’t like them because, apparently, dislikes and blocks count against your like counter, which considering all the weird/nasty profiles, you’ll go through them quickly. I was barely even on the app for 15 minutes after making my profile, and it was just useless after that. It does “unblur” people randomly, I guess through the day, but again, most are talking about hookups, which I’m not looking for. I, also, apparently, have messages, but I can’t read any of them because, I guess, they’re locked behind something, too? I’m verified and everything, so I don’t know. And from what I’ve seen, so far, I’m not interested in spending any money to see who liked me.
I truly don’t get how this app is scored so high. Maybe it’s from people just looking for hookups and, if that’s the case, then this is the app for you. I didn’t realize LGBT+ meant just hooking up. I need a serious relationship LGBT+ app, lol.

Hello Reedear, and thank you for the feedback. 🤍 Our app is designed to help people connect and build meaningful relationships with those who share similar interests. We understand that everyone is unique and may be looking for different things, so while your matches might not always align right away, keep exploring! By communicating what you're seeking, you'll increase your chances of finding someone who shares your mindset. Regarding premium features, I’d like to clarify that our basic tier is entirely free! You can browse Discovery, Like, Match, and chat with others at no cost. While incoming Like Messages may appear blurred without a Premium plan, you can always Like someone back via Discovery if your preferences match. If you need further clarification or tips on using the app, feel free to contact us at support@taimi.com, and we'll be happy to assist you. Anette from Taimi. 🤍

Not really a safe space

I do enjoy this app, I’ve started using it again after figuring some stuff out and getting back into dating, my only complaint is for a lgbtq+ plus dating app, there is a awful lot of cishete men on it. Now don’t get me wrong, I don’t blindly hate all cishete people but as this is a lgbtq+ app and safe space, it feels odd to have a overwhelming amount of these men usually being weirdos and ruining my experience. They have plenty spaces to choose from, I’m just a little uncomfortable with the fact it seems like they’re more of these men on this app then fellow queer people.

Money Grabbers

This app isn’t made for those who struggle with money. If you want to message someone then you have to pay, if you want to see who liked you, you have to pay. Waste of time if you can’t afford it. You’re not allowed to add your social media accounts either just to make sure there’s another Penny in their pocket. I’d stick to Bumble, Hinge or even Badoo as at least you can message people on them without having to pay.

The only thing I do like about this app is that I don’t have to constantly adjust filters due to “running out of people in the area”.

Dear Daniel, we're very sorry to hear that you have this impression of the Taimi app. Allow us to clarify that to chat and match with other people, no subscriptions are required—you just need a mutual like via Discovery. Only the list of people who liked you (not the people you matched with) is restricted to the premium version. Furthermore, what makes you think sharing social media isn't possible in the app? You can even link your Instagram and Spotify accounts to your profile. Let us know at support@taimi.com or via the in-app Live Support Chat. We look forward to your message! 😊

Taimi is as worse as Grindr

As a trans PoC, I have had various issues with members of this app. Majority of the members are cisnormative and heteronormative and yet coming hunting for intimacy on this and other apps like this one with such bigotry, transphobia, queerphobia and transmisogyny. I have had members of this app stalk me, abuse me and quickly block me and Taimi has not done anything to address such safety issues for trans people at least not transparently. Grindr is an extremely worse app and Taimi is not much different.

Thank you for the honest review. It's deeply saddening to hear you have encountered transmisia on the Taimi platform. We have a zero-tolerance policy for this kind of behavior, and our support team works around the clock to tackle any safety threats. Would it be possible for you to contact our support team via Profile > Settings > Help&Support or even via e-mail at support@taimi.com? We'd very much like to address this and take appropriate action against such violations of our Community Rules. Keep in mind that even if someone blocks you, you can still report them to our support team directly, and we're more than capable of processing your report. Furthermore, we would also like to help you make the most of our safety and privacy features so you can minimize these kinds of threats. Looking forward to your message! 💜

Cishet Male Fetishization Central

I’ve complained about it so much that it’s ridiculous. THIS APP DOESN’T CARE ABT THE LGBTQ+ COMMUNITY !! You can complain over and over about the harassment from straight cis males, you can report them, but because “oh we don’t discriminate, this is a place where alll kinds of people are allowed, we allow allies because even though they aren’t lgbtq+ in any way, we’re gonna appeal to them cause we’re money hungry and you just have to sit and take the harassment and fetishization and sexualization because yeah srry :3”. They are a corporation getting money from us, they do not care about the queer community, just our dollars. If they cared, they would implement filters that let us filter people who are straight and also cis, or better yet, not allow them on the app at all, because truthfully, why would a cisgender heterosexual male need to be on an app that was made FOR queer individuals to find OTHER queer individuals ? It’s just non lgbtq+ people invading our spaces just like they always have and they just allow it. People have been asking about a sexuality filter for so long and they put unnecessary feature after unnecessary feature in their updates INSTEAD of what the community has asked for. Either make the app safer for the community as a whole or don’t falsely advertise yourself as a place for the queer community to find community when you know you allow wayyy more cishets than should be allowed, which frankly imo should be 0.

Can’t use the app

I am a femboy, and cross dress well enough that I am passable as a trans woman or woman. I figured I’d have much better experience and luck on this app for actual dating. Grindr and Jack’d are meat lockers and I actually don’t enjoy the user experience there. I want to meet genuine people that want to date. Except, I can’t even respond to the 70+ people that have messaged me in literally just a few days time. I made my profile, liked a couple guys and exited the app. Upon reentry in seeing how much attention I’ve gotten but I can’t respond to a single guy or see my likes without paying for the entire app. For one, I do t want to pay for features in an app. Micro transactions are the quickest way to kill an app to me. I won’t even support video games with micro transactions. Why would I pay to reply to someone? Why am I paying to see who liked me? Isn’t this a match making app??? But you literally cannot use the app without paying for it. Why, would I subscribe to a dating app? I will absolutely take my chances meeting someone in the real world. I’m actually hot enough to be approached by men and in general am not afraid to go out and shoot my shot when I see someone attractive to me. Paying for “dating” apps is absolutely dead to me.

Thank you for the review! Subscriptions or payments are not required to chat with other users in the app. As soon as two users like each other on Discovery, they're both notified of the match, and from there they can start talking. Only the list of people who liked you (not the people you matched with) is restricted to the premium version. Users can start chatting as soon as they match on Discovery. 😊 If you have any questions, we're always available at support@taimi.com and via the in-app Live Support Chat!

Been going downhill

Ii loved when taimi still had a social media side, which was a great way to share thoughts, feelings, impressions or commect with those who had. There were groups for xommon interests, but now it's a pretty basic subscribe for features app, they even removed the free spins for rainbow likes, rollbacks and the like. They removed being able to add people as friends instead of like them. They're notices encourage you to ask strangers for private cards (photos), that you can see who visited you (requires a subscription and odds are if they liked your profile they woulda left a like) or otherwise their notices may make you feel like you're missing out.

I prefer Growlr's team of developers and how they can encourage looking for cuddles or hubbears or otherwise invite you without trying to sell you something. I miss connecting with the *LGBT community* (not just individuals) at large. This app feels more out for money and less about connecting people than it used to be. I'm disappointed Taimi, we know you can do better because you were, what happened to your values and character? What happened to facilitating connections across the LGBT community? I miss it.

Hi, Josiah! Thank you so much for the constructive feedback on the features we've removed and introduced over the recent years. Although we'll definitely use your thoughts to improve our service in the future, we'd also love to provide additional clarifications concerning the limitations we have in place and assist you in making the most out of our free version. Taimi and its basic features remain free! Contact us at support@taimi.com or via the in-app Live Support Chat. We operate 24/7! 💜

Could have been something amazing.

I will keep reiterating this, Taimi’s first concept of the social media style outlet for queer and lgbt folks was the game changer for them. The live-streaming service and group chats enabled a safe space for queer people to connect beside dating. As of currently, this app has excluded most, if not all of the features that made them most unique out of all their competitors. There has been a surge in lgbt and queer folks in the community using the platform “ Yubo” as a live streaming outlet, and as an alternative way to make friends. Unfortunately, Taimi has become very generic, ever dating app incl. tinder incorporates components of LGBT inclusivity with the advancements of setting your preferences, how you identify and finding others of similar match. This is what makes taimi unable to stand out from the rest. Again, the social media concept for your platform was incredible, and many users including influencers from other platforms had started using it due to its popularity. The popularity has completely disappeared now, 4 years later as a previous user, there’s not much that makes this app different to tinder, hinge, okcupid, bumble, grindr. Again great concept of this app, poorly executed in the end. Very unfortunate downfall.

Hi, Jayda! We sincerely thank you for sharing your honest thoughts about the Taimi app. Being a social platform was definitely a very important part of our history, and also what made us choose the path we're on today. For now, we're committed to solidifying our signature features in the dating sphere, but who knows what the future might bring! 💜

Pay To Block People (Dont Install, Read)!!!

I had to gold subscription and ran out of swipes. It used to be unlimited up until recently but of course they’re slowly taking away everything good in the app thinking no one will notice. It says im out of actions and cant even block anyone. This is a safety concern and it sounds very illegal. The team keeps saying its for genuine reactions and that they’re “delivering requested improvements.” But im sure noo one asked for that. I had this app for years. I actually considered it a 5 star app now its in the negatives. If you actually cared about your users, you’d actually listen instead of telling us why you think its a good thing. If the users don’t agree then I think its time to listen. $9.99 to reset actions on a gold subscription its crazy. Its about genuine reactions, but all that goes out the window if we pay for it. I was there when they had group chats, personal preference filters, and alot more. 90% of the reviews are complaining and nothing is being done about it. I dont remember one update that was actually an improvement. Mostly came to find out good features were gone. Not to mention the price increase. Just please add something useful and listen to people. This definitely isn’t about the lgbt community anymore it’s about money and alot of people agrees, we’re not stupid
