Hoi! Let’s end 2018 with a bang! Have you seen the shiny new app icon already? We hope you like it! But more important: we added a new hospital! We proudly welcome Maastricht UMC+ to the app. Families who have the app already won’t notice anything from this. Is this the case however, or did you find an improvement for us? Please let us know! Hoi! It’s time for an update again! We tested the app extensively to clean up some flaws. Also the computer cart got an upgrade and the hallway of the theme ‘after the operation’ is equipped with some furniture. Dag Liesbreuk is ready for use! Please let us know if we missed something! This update: - New computer cart for our nurse; - New furniture in the hallway of ‘After the operation’; - Visual- and textual flaws are cleaned up; - Small fixes and improvements.

Hi! This is a moment we’re proud of: you can read the complete guide for parents in the app! There’s no need anymore to download the guide from our website: everything you need is now on one place. We also added a picture of the band aids in the theme ‘after the operation’ and changed the introduction for a bit. Some pictures in the the thema ‘the operation’ are deleted because of a refurbishment in the day centre. Keep telling us what you think! This update: ⁃ Added the guide;  ⁃ Added band aids picture;  ⁃ Changed the introduction;  ⁃ Some changes because of the refurbishment;  ⁃ Small fixes and improvements.

** Webby Award winner 2017!  ** Recommended and made by parents, pedagogues and medical experts In collabration with:   • Amsterdam UMC, location VUmc  • Maastricht UMC+   • Meander Medisch Centrum Dag Liesbreuk starts with a special guide for the parents/caretakers. There they will find every information they need about the hospital, the treatment and the preparations itself. This way, parents know exactly what will happen, so they can calmly prepare their children. On their own way. By personal avatars, pictures from your hospital and happy animations, Dag Liesbreuk helps families to get together and talk about the treatment. It makes it easier to talk about feelings of fear, anger or joy. Dag Liesbreuk is for the whole family, also for the brothers or sisters! Everybody can create his own avatar and gets his own role. This makes the preparation personal, so everybody knows exactly what will happen and feels control about the situation. Being well prepared on a hospital treatment and the recovery period gives more confidence, rest and grip. This is important to be able to process feelings of anxiety and stress, and ensures a good and quick recovery after the medical intervention.  Dag liesbreuk is a product of the Hoi Dokter foundation, in collaboration with the Kinderchirurgisch Centrum Amsterdam, Maastricht UMC+ and design agency Familie van Fonk.
