Hi Mendoji, Our Japanese Translator + is freemium. You can download it and use all features with ads. But you also have an option to upgrade it with paid subscription so you can access extended dictionary with more examples, bigger Phrasebook with 256 phrase pairs, extended Verb Forms, and no ads. Camera translation not working

Whenever I open up the translation, the app crashes

Response from developer

Hello, The best approach for app crashing issues is to try to force reboot the iPhone by holding down the Power button and Home button until the device flashes the Apple logo. It’s very important to me that we fix the problem. Can you please email support@vidalingua.com, Attention Marc, so I can make sure the issue is resolved for you? Marc Bolh, Founder Vidalingua

Reference tools for Learning Japanese

I spent some time working in Tokyo and my Japanese was pretty good by the end of my stay. Now that I'm back in the US I don't get that many chances to speak Japanese so I rely on learning tools like apps.
Japanese Translator + is a good app that is complementary to other learning resources because it has a collection of reference tools.
The translator does full sentence translations that are accurate for the most part. No machine translator is perfect but this one seems to be as good or better than other popular choices. The dictionary is integrated into the translator so if you look up a single word, you get numerous entries such as part of speech, multiple translations and usage examples. That's an advantage over most translators. You can annotate dictionary words too, haven't seen that in other apps, comes in handy for some words.

The app includes thousands of verb conjugations. Verbs are important to mastering a language so this comes in handy. There is a multiple choice vocab quiz feature and flashcards. You can limit flashcards to dictionary favorites. Would be good if the devs added that to the vocab quizzes. The phrasebook is a bit sparse but you can add your own phrases from the Translator.
I would recommend this app to students or travellers.

Could be better!

I really liked the app. However it keeps crashing whenever I go to the translate tab.
I thought maybe reinstalling it would help but it started crashing again.
Hopefully the issue is resolved.

Useful app

The most popular translation app fails me a lot but this one always has the word.

Going to Japan

I am hoping to participate in the TIE Japanese exchange program at school. Got to get my Japanese buff so I don’t look like a fool 🤪
This app has my back. Phrasebook is good to get ready for the trip. I like the vocab quizzes for practice.

Must Have

Very handy app for fast and easy reference. Robust and user-friendly!

Saved Phrases

The app worked great for the first two days. Now I don’t have access to my saved phrases. Whenever I press the button “translate” the app would shut itself off.

Learn Japanese

Was looking for a good English to Japanese translation app and found this,it’s really helpful and better than what I was looking for, lots of words in the free app and phrases,it covers lots of different situations you come across in life, the dictionary vast,it’s amazing I think I’m also getting better at English to lol, not tried the paid part of the app yet but I’m guessing there’s more phrases and info there, altogether it a really good learning tool,it also pronounces the words for you if you want. The app also is on Twitter if you need help with anything.
