1.3.1

December 4, 2019

-------------- New Features: -------------- Model Indicators - New white triangle icons may be displayed on the four side of the screen when the model is rendered outside the viewing area. Detected Planes - The white translucent detected planes help indicating the model's relative position. - The detected planes are drawn 1cm below the actual anchor plane that the model is placed so that the detected planes will not overlap the model geometries at zero altitude. - You can show or hide the detected planes using the new 'Draw Detected Plane' switch in the on-screen settings menu. Scale Options - The new on-screen scale menu has a quick toggle for Full 1:1 scale and Custom scale. Tapping the Full (1:1) scale mode will make the model scale up to the original size of the model. The scale lock will also be turned on automatically to prevent accidental manual scaling with the two-finger pinch gesture. - When the scale lock is on, the scale menu button shows a lock icon, and the two-finger pick gesture is disabled for scaling. The model can still be rotated with two-finger rotation gesture. - A new label at the bottom of the screen to show the current dimension of the model and the current scale ratio. - The Custom mode allows the model to be scaled to an arbitrary ratio. The scale menu shows a few scale ratios as shortcuts. Device Geolocation and Direction - A new label at the top of the screen to show the current device location (in latitude and longitude), the location accuracy (in meters), and the direction. - If the geolocation and the direction is not available for the device, such as an iPad without GPS, the label will not show a reading. File Settings - The new version reads the settings.json file (or [folder name].json) for the initial model scale mode, the new anchor, and the new geolocation.  - The new app supports file settings up to version 3 of the settings.json file. - Please refer to the documentation of the FME AR Writer for more information. Anchor - The app will now show a green upside-down cone as the anchor point of the model. - The default anchor is the center point of the x and y extents (i.e. the center of the longitude and latitude ranges), and 0.0 at the altitude. - The anchor point is used as the point to place the model on the detected plane. Geolocation and Geomarker - When a geolocation of an anchor is available in the json settings file, the app will show a red upside-down cone as the geomarker. - The geomarker shows the corresponding geolocation where the anchor should locate in the real world. - Since this geomarker is placed on the screen based on the device's location, if the device is not able to retrieve an accurate reading (due to interference inside a building, for example), the geomarker may show up at an incorrect location. - A new label shows the geolocation and the distance of the geomarker from the device's current location. - The label also has a 'Move model here' button. Tapping the button will bring up a confirmation dialog. After a confirmation, the model will be moved to the geolocation so that the anchor and the geomarker align. - The app currently doesn't move the model to the geolocation automatically. -------------------------------------- Changes, Improvements and Bug Fixes -------------------------------------- Elevation - The new version treats z=0.0 in the model as the ground. Coordinates with negative z will be displayed below the detected plane. Double-Sided Material - The new version will show both sides of a wall instead of culling the back side. This will make it easier to see the model if the device is located inside a model. Model Placement - The 10 meter limit of placing model has been removed.
