  • AWFUL customer service - Potential Scam

    I am not rating it as 0 because that isn't an option.

    We are going to Spain in mid-September and booked an apartment through Spotahome. They were responsive when we were trying to rent the place, and so far, the experience had been good. However, last week, our landlord informed us that they were no longer working with the platform due to issues with the Spotahome team and asked us to cancel the reservation. We immediately emailed the customer care team to inform them of the situation but have only received inadequate responses from different agents who do not seem to have read the thread.

    We are now without an apartment and without firm confirmation about when the approximately USD 2.3K will be refunded to our credit card. As time is of the essence in finding a new place to stay, we urgently need our funds to be refunded before we proceed in a different direction.

  • Bug report:

    On iPhone 14, iOS 17.4.1, the back button on upper left corner does not function as expected. I suspect touch point is not active.

  • Canceled bookings

    I attempted to book two apartments using Spotahome. The first one the landlord canceled (at no fault to Spotahome) and the second one Spotahome could not “verify” my card and notified me they would be canceling my booking two days before I was scheduled to arrive. This was after it was approved and the funds were already taken from my account.

    I was refunded less than what I paid and had to file a dispute with my bank for the remaining balance. Weeks later I am still getting emails to verify my card. Terrible experience and I’d recommend just booking an Airbnb or finding someone to directly rent from.

  • Meh

    It’s a great app, and I got an apartment out of it. A bit annoying when the landlord said I could never have a guest over for any reason… But other than that it has been good. The app itself works well, except the interface can be absolutely terrible. The buttons at the top left and right – – you have to press them about 10 times times for it to work.

  • Don’t use this site!

    Horrid customer service, and doesn’t properly vet its hosts. By not providing reviews, you won’t know if your landlord is someone who will be a great person, or a horrid person to live under. Also, the price doesn’t seem justified. You will save money using Airbnb or any other site besides this one. I regret signing a contract through Spotahome and wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

  • Not as honest as they claim

    Booked an apartment after two other failed attempts. Had a lot of pressure to find a place. When finally having a landlord agree, I got a call from Spotahome. I explained to the agent prior to confirming I need a rental agreement for a National ID - and the agreement can not be transitorio, the agent said he will confirm with landlord before charging my card. The agent never called back - and my card was charged. I got in contact with landlord and he DOES NOT give legit contracts for document purposes. I tried to explain my situation, he did not care. I emailed Spotahome and I was informed since it was less than 30 days to moving in I could
    not be refunded. Thanks for NOT being honest and NOT doing your job.

  • O barato sai caro

    Não confiem , eles são uma empresa que reloca os apartamentos para as imobiliárias. Airbnb é mais seguro e te dão suporte caso você precise de algo . A Spot não me deu suporte nenhum , cancelaram minha conta depois que encerrei a minha reserva e tive que ficar implorando para devolverem meu dinheiro de fiança . Não recomendo .

    Despite what they say, Spotahome won't protect you against dishonest landlords, it won't issue refunds or represent you in case of disputes. Scamming landlords will lie in the listings (don't trust the "Verified by Spotahome" label, it doesn't mean anything), will use tricks to prevent you from verifying the state of the apartment at the time of checkin, and no matter how much you document these issues with Spotahome during your stay, they will do NOTHING if a landlord decides to lie to keep part of even your whole deposit. Instead, Spotahome will protect dishonest landlords to the end, because they are the ones who have the properties that Spotahome wants to make money out of. Even if you decide to return the property early because of a bad experience, Spotahome won't refund you either. It's basically the perfect facilitator for dishonest landlords to scam tourists. PUT YOUR SAFETY AND YOUR MONEY FIRST, DON"T USE SPOTAHOME.
