Excellent tool for artists

Does exactly what I need without unnecessary complications.

Details of in app purchases

This looks like an interesting and useful app, but there is no indication of the price of in app purchases until you try to use a feature. Even then, there is no indication of the duration of that purchase. Is 99 cents for one photo? All photos? A week? Forever? Does it include the contour lines feature which I think I deduced from the description? Lack of info makes me hesitant to buy or use. I know the first buy in is very small, but itโ€™s a blind one. Info up front, please.

Response from developer

Hi, it is $0.99 for all the photos and forever. I will update the description to make it more clear. The standard categorization of the in-app purchase in the App Store doesnโ€™t say that this is a subscription which I assumed implies that there is no usage duration limit. Thank you for your feedback. I can also be contacted to answer more questions through the support link in the App Store.

Interesting art tool

Looking for an app that enables me to look at my work in gray scale to ensure balance of composition. This was ok but a little bit of fiddling around required.
I really need an app that l can click a button and change colour to grayscale. This is not it!!

Great little tool for artists

I was looking for an app that would help me do value studies; this one is easy to use, effective, and definitely worth the dollar to buy. FYI the free version allows you to take and save photos in greyscale; the paid version adds the ability to do that with photos from your collection.

Great app for painting!

I just got this app and find that itโ€™s super user friendly and helps me so much with my portraits. This is a great app at a great price!

Updated review

I hadnโ€™t used this for some time but then found it was crashing on launch under iOS 14 - but after reply from the dev I tried deleting and reinstalling which fixed it. If you want to see value this is super useful.

Response from developer

The app is still maintained, and based on the feedback I have been receiving, it has many happy active users. It hasn't been updated for a long time since it still works with new iOS releases, including iOS 14 which I have on my device and I haven't run into any issues. I am sorry to hear that it crashes for you. Could you provide some more details to help troubleshoot it, e.g. is it crashing on the very first launch after installing? You contact me through the app support link in the AppStore or directly through https://robertjakubowski.me/apps/see-value-support/.

Love the app, but a question

The live crosshair reading seems almost too sensitive, with the numbers constantly jumping up or down 6 points regardless of how steady I hold the thing. Is there a way to reduce the sensitivity a bit or average out the readings over a secondโ€™s time? I get that it is simply being accurate, but it is an accuracy beyond my appreciation on a tiny phone screen.

Response from developer

Hi, There is no way to adjust the sensitivity of the crosshair in the app. I agree that the jumping numbers are distracting and it would be good to lower the resolution, or maybe average the value across the surrounding pixels. Unfortunately, I currently don't have the time to make additional changes to the app. I would recommend giving a try to the "Value Study" app which provides similar functionality plus a lot more other features, and it is actively maintained. Thank you your feedback and the rating!

Nice

Good for art references.

Of little value

I downloaded this app to try only to be disappointed as other apps seem to do more with no in apps purchases needed. Therefore, I am deleting it because it is not worth the space it takes up on my iPad.

So helpful

Love this app
Had a minor issue with a bug -reset my phone and am able to complete in app purchase to load photos
fantastic app. Iโ€™m learning watercolor need to reduce images to no more than four tones, and the this app is versatile
Exactly what I needed
Thanks
