This app is not good at all as it just seems to “white out” when you zoom in to specific area - pretty hopeless really and not much good - better apps out there - give this one a miss and save your money!!Xxvvssidmfk

Best Nav app available
Once upon a time I advocated for a different app. After it sold, the new owners became greedy. TZiBoat and Navionics are the only ones I’ll recommend now. On any day, I’m navigating with TZiBoat as I find it easy to use: to select WP, to develop routes (manually, I still do not teach the use of auto-routing except for quick time-distance checks), and incorporation of weather, tides and currents. The graphics are spectacular and ease of use is wonderful. I’ve never found serious errors in the charts and find the pricing to be fair for all you receive.Show lessCdrpilot

TZiBoat is where I plan routes and what I use when on the water. The browser access is brilliant for checking and refining. Auto pilot connection, weather, AIS… search, live navigational lights feature. So good.Captain_Nugget

This app is easy to use with great route planning, weather and tide info on a single display. The choice of raster or vector charts which can be combined with satellite images provides all the information you need to navigate safely.Toerag two

Edit: So impressed, around 6 weeks later the chart has been updated with the depth we experienced. After trialling 2 apps over Christmas, contacting both for support well TZ iBoat wins hands down (the other well known app just shook this issue off with no assistance to fix). Will continue to use this app both very affordable and extremely easy to use lots of amazing features and very easy to deal with, thank you Simon from TZ. ………… Communication is great if there’s an issue with depth. However not sure how long it takes for charts to be updated. Watch this space!Show lessJarricki

I have tried all of the sailing apps out there and it’s hard to find one that’s a good balance of functionality and price. I am a long time user of a different popular app, but decided to give this one a try and have been surprised by how much I like it. There are a few features that I wish it had (a better management system for saved tracks) and the companion laptop software is absurdly priced, but the app is worth trying and spending the money for maps. I still haven’t managed to get it connected to Furuno network on the boat I sail on (better instructions on making the network connection work would be nice), but the maps are very nice to view and all the interactions are intuitive and easy.Show lessEchoWhiskey

I’ve just recently downloaded this app. I have been using another app based navigation system solely for the the last ten years of cruising all over Central American and South Pacific. The app I was using failed, that’s when I realised I had no easy backups. After making land fall I spend many hours over many days looking at, reading about and downloading all the marine offline navigation apps w/ AIS overlays. I settled with TZ and after an adjustment period of getting acquainted with the new system. I can say I’ll keep to other app for a back up, BUT TZ is sooo much better and fun to use!!!! It has everything I need and more.

I used to run inavx and was moderately happy with it until they dropped charts for most of the Caribbean. I tried a bunch of other apps that turned out to be awful, then a friend who was a ships captain told me he used TZ even though his ships had a full set of ships equipment including ECDIS.
TZ is more intuitive than any other App I have tried and faster to set up routes. The other bits that make it stand out are as follows:
1) 3d view and ability to change instantly from heads up/ to north up and between 3d and normal view. Makes identifying headlands really easy
2) Anchorage wave forecasts - give you a quick idea of which anchorages will be ok given forecast weather
3) Ships log feature which records and outputs data at regular intervals along the route.
4) Massive choice of styles including sat view overlays.
5) Price. Even if you ignore the features above, it is price competitive. All considered I think it’s best value and best features
6) User support. Very responsive and really want input and suggestions for improvement.Show lessDubaiguy105
