Ampere Battery Charging Check User Reviews

Highly inaccurate

In the time this app took to measure (~10 minutes) my phone went from 31 to 45% but this app says I'm charging at 1.4W. I wish, because a 15 W charger would be way way faster.

Update . 10/25/2023. Hello. Support for iOS 17 was added. Please update your app. Regards, Andrew Hello, Please update your app. In iOS 17, Apple has reduced the precision level for battery data from 1% to 5% of charge. We have incorporated the necessary support into our app. Unfortunately, this change will result in longer tests. At this point, we do not have any alternatives unless Apple decides to revert to the previous setting. Regards, Andre

No use !

I got this app (and paid 99p for no ads). Expecting an upgrade from Ampere 4. This is a serious Downgrade. Only a fraction of the information and it leaves you to do the math yourself ! All wrapped up in a pretty-pretty pastel shell, with dumb comments continuously running over the screen. This is not worth it's space.

Hello. Amperes 4 is the top version that we have right now. Ampere is basic version of the app that you use for a simple result testing. Nothing like many modes and graphs of Amperes 4. I assume you tried the free version before unlocking it and supporting us with 99p? Regards, Andre

Stopped working

Due to iOS17 maybe?? Tests take forever now, charge rate shown doesn’t match actual charge during test.

Update . 10/25/2023. Hello. Support for iOS 17 was added. Please update your app. Regards, Andrew Hello. Yes, iOS 17 broke the battery reporting functionality. We opened case with Apple but so far they are not providing any info on when is it going to be fixed if at all. Hope that we will not need to bring it to the media if they will decide not to fix it. Regards, Andre

Doesnt support iphone 14+

Says its charging at 7.5watts says its only 2550mah

Response from developer

Hello. This app supports all iPhone versions. If it showed to you that it was charging at the rate of 7.5 Watt, then it means that during the time that test was running, you buttery was charged for that much. Please let us know what was your expectations, and why you think that something is wrong. Thank you! Andre

Test on many Chargers

Hi,
I want to ask how this app works and why i have tried many chargers 5w, 10w, 2 different 20w and a 15w wireless charger
but i got strange results like:
apple 5w : ~4w
powerbank 10w : ~4w
apple 20w : ~12w
ugreen 20w : ~6w
no branded wireless charger 15w : ~6w
want to know if it’s the app’s fault not reading the correct wattage or i don’t know what is it ?
i would be thankful if you can answer what’s the reason..

regards.

Response from developer

Hello. App is unable to read wattage from the charger. No app on App Store can do that. Apple does not provide that functionality to developers and forbid using any side libraries to do that. As such, we do calculate these results from the battery charged capacity. In case your charger charged some percentage of your battery in x time, we can calculate, what charge / wattage was used to that in that amount of time. If your battery is charged above 50%-55%, all fast charge will not be effective, and it will max out at Apple specified charging range to preserve your battery. If you want to compare your chargers using their max potential, please use the test when your battery is charged between 1% and 50% only. Regards, Andre

Works As Described

Not sure what all the negative reviews are talking about. The app works exactly as described if you follow the instructions. Yes there are ads in the free version but they are skippable. Also the developer is very responsive in responding to negative reviews with a personalized message addressing the specifics brought up in the review. You can read those and see. It’s unfortunate that starting with iOS 10 Apple removed the ability for apps to access battery info. That’s not the fault of app developers.

Thank you for your review! Appreciate that you spent time writing it, and I hope, that our app helps you, even if just a little :) Regards, Andrew

Worst charging app I’ve ever seen

Takes over 10 minutes to run what should take 10 seconds. It was so distracting I wish I could delete it from my account history entirely.

Plus it has ads, you can’t sleep the phone while it’s running, and while it’s testing it keeps popping up these moronic little phrases.

Do yourself a favor and find a more refined app.

Response from developer

Dear Danny, thank you for your review. You spent a lot of time writing it. Please spend a little more and google why on iOS devices (IPads, IPhones) you can not get this information quickly for the last 5 years or so. You will be surprised that this beautiful one star that you left for our app actually should go to Apple that closed access to any quick data on chargers and battery. In any case, feel free to email me at support@criosoft.com if you would like to discuss this topic further. Regards, Andre

Just plays adverts and tells you it’s almost done

This is an advert jukebox. It keeps saying almost there almost done 1 more percent then it’s better to run the test a few times. If you ever switch apps it cancels with no results. If you close the advert too soon it cancels with no results. I let it run for 10 minutes just to test it and no results. The app just plays ads and makes excuses until you remove it

Response from developer

Hello. The test takes a lot of time sometimes, especially on slow chargers, like wireless ones. It requires your charger to charge your device for a couple of percent of the charge. We added the messages as a way to keep people waiting for the test to complete, so they will not run out of patience, but as your review shows it, that did not help in your case. Unfortunately we can’t test your charger or battery faster, since there is no fast way to test it anymore. It was removed since iOS 10. If you have more questions- feel free to contact us at support@criosoft.com. Thanks. Andre

Inaccurate, unskippable ads

Reported five watts on numerous high speed chargers into my iPhone SE. Gave up when I got to an ad I couldn’t close to return to the app.

Response from developer

Hello. Looks like your iPhone SE is limited up to about 5 watts charge. That would just mean that you don’t need any more powerful chargers since those will charge your phone with the same speed as a less expensive ones. Regards, Andre

Not accurate

Battery charging optimization turned off on iPhone 14 pro max. This app shows 19.7 watts on a 30w charger, 9.7 watts on a 20 watt charger, and 3.2 watts on a 5 watt charger.

Response from developer

Thank you for your review. Having a powerful charger does not mean that iPhone will allow you to use its full potential. You are limited to set safe limits, depending on factors like current charge level, battery temperature, etc. It’s not linear and simple like 2+2 =4. There are variables in between here. If app gave you those results, that means that your battery was charged to those values in that time. App helped you to see that data. Regards, Andre
