  • Needs ui improvements

It’s a good app but a bit hard to use. It doesn’t support iOS back gesture and you have to tap on the back button which is usually hard to reach. A single tap on the photos exits the view which is annoying as often a double tap with the intention of zooming in is interpreted by the app as a single tap and exists the photo view, as a result you have to get back to the photos and keep swiping away the ones you’ve already viewed to view the rest. Tapping on the like button usually takes time to take affect. Menus are too busy and confusing, some items don’t even belong where they are, for example staff profile should not be in the settings menu as there is nothing about it to be set or configured by parents.

  • Messy app. Not user friendly

Has Multiple menus, each with different options, not user friendly at all. Unable to do group bookings or cancellations. I was pre-booked by staff for the whole year, which I don’t need. They can only cancel up to April, I have to go through each one individually and cancel, sign, wait for slow up to load, then do the next day. It’s extremely time consuming. No option to cancel bookings, only non- attendance option. Staff must go in and manually cancel my booking if it’s within cancellation period , which adds another layer/chance of human error to occur. Can’t click through calendar for bookings , have to scroll down, and only shown dates so have to scroll up and down just to work out what day , each date is related too. I hate it all. Very very frustrating for user.

  • Small improvements would make app so much better.

First up I like this app and find it great to stay up to date with my child’s day. Lots of useful features and overall easy to use. There are few things which could be improved. The child sign in screen for instance could pre-fill the previous entered pickup time (userdefaults store could be used for that).

There is no loader or blocking screen when entering the sign in screen. Pressing signin multiple times, because the internet connection is slow opens the screen multiple times!

iPad has plenty of layout related issues when moving between landscape and portrait. The photo gallery doesn’t update properly. Videos can’t be swiped once the playing.

  • Owna review

I have been using the app now for over a year and have found it quite a useful resource and effective form of communication with our childcare. Sometimes at pickup you don’t have time to ask all the questions and it’s great to have it all in the app to check such as sleep schedules and food etc. I also love that the carers can share photos of the activities the kids have been up to. Makes us feel more connected. The only downfall so far is I now have 2 children at different centres and I can’t have them both attached to the one login. If there is a way, I haven’t found a successful way of adding a second child. The nuisance of having to log in and out, and remembering passwords is frustrating.

  • OWNA App is effective for parent-carer communication

It is every parent's concern when their child is placed into the care of other people. The OWNA App is easily accessible so we as parents can check up on our children when they are at day care. All children's names are tagged which gives you a notification and any important memo about centre are communicated here. I quite like the progress reports there which details how my child is doing and developmental stages they have achieved. Very user friendly and doesn't overwhelm you with unnecessary posts or irrelevant pop ups. And what's best is this app is still accessible and available to look back after you leave!

  • Easy going app

It’s so much more efficient to use for all aspects of child care. I love the ability to record absences and contact the Centre easily as well as update financial details, enrolments and keep information up to date.
Most importantly for us it is great be kept up to date instantly with heart melts photos and precise information with what's happening during the day for our child like if she ate well if took a nap or change her nappy. The notification just pop straight away
The information is easily accessible and user friendly.
We haven't had any issues and enjoy using the owna app!
Thanks OWNA to give us more ways to be closer to our kids.

  • Makes starting daycare much easier

My little one has just started daycare for the first time and it was a nervous time for not only her, but for Mum and Dad as well! The OWNA app allowed both hubby and I to both have access to our daughter’s information through the day and see what she had eaten, when her nappy was changed and how she had slept. The app also allows me to keep up to date with information from the Centre, and report absences and review my invoices. I would recommend this app for anyone with a child starting daycare!

  • Getting better

The app has gradually become better and more intuitive. The child’s profile/daily information is reassuring and the Learning Stories shared by staff at the ELC are wonderful. Sometimes forms and other documents are difficult to find but there are some helpful ‘how to guides’ to help. This is hard to streamline because all the details about a child plus enrolment requirements mean there has to be multiple folders and fields to navigate. Overall, it’s a convenient way to share and communicate with educators and catch up on anything that may have been missed during the morning rush.

  • OWNA app for daycare win

OWNA is a great app for communicating between educators at my daughters daycare, myself and my daughters dad. Daily information is uploaded easily and enables us to have an update on her progress in terms of nappy changes, food and sleep. The functionality also allows the centre to send incident reports through instantly and fill in all required form through the one platform. My only negative would be that they need to send a notification or sent files and a receipt of that file so parents know exactly what information they have sent through.

  • Great app for updates on your child’s progress

Out of the few apps we have used throughout childcare’s, OWNA has been my favourite. It is super easy to navigate, you can upload things for the group to see or educator only (really handy when you need a private discussion), you can get notifications each time your child has been tagged in a post and so much more. It tells you the daily UV rays, the educator in charge that day, gives birthday updates etc.

Definitely a superior app that I highly recommend other education centres to engage with.
